Hi Everyone I'm 'Rev'

Thanks for looking at my profile. I have been photographing as a hobby for 10 years using basic point and shoot cameras with 8 megapixel mini sensors on auto settings yet somehow friends who wanted to try modelling persuaded me to do shots of them for their portfolios which took them off at the start of their careers as well as partially starting mine.

However truth is while I did do photography for some work I never had that burning desire for the still art form as deep down film making is my real passion and after a number of years I decided to combine my film making knowledge into small experimental works in the modelling world and after some great response from my old camcorder I decided to try and pursue it as a career and from that point on I have had some really great experiences. I now have experiences in shooting short films, music videos and experimental avant garde projects as well as dance videos. I love shooting with as much available light as possible (especially backlight and tungsten lights especially as practicals) and have a real love for black and white, pop art colours as well as extreme exposures. I shoot everything from artistic, lingerie, swimwear, experimental, fashion, art nude as well as the urban art movement and cubist style which I love and will push myself to get the best possible shots as well as listen to any new ideas anyone has and hope together we can create something really beautiful that we both can be proud of. Overall I have always been very passionate and creative and I always love to try and create beautiful artistic images and collaborate with the models as much as possible because at the end of the day it is their work as much as mine. 

Camera and Style

I am more cinematic how I shoot and approach the look and therefore move the camera a lot or use unique lenses from ultra wides to non too sharp lenses. I own 3 anamorphic prime lenses which are a 1.33x squeeze. For those with a knowledge of film and video I today shoot entirely at 24 frames per second mostly at the 180 degree shutter angle except for certain looks in a shot and I will not shoot any frame rate higher as I do not like the 'soap opera' effect from higher frame rates. If you want clean over lit shots with sharp images I will only do if it is for client work/paid work but I will still have part of my style on it. If shooting outdoors I like to shoot during magic hours if it is a sunny day or when it is cloudy. I will even shoot in bad weather as rain or snow can look the best and these can give a beautiful look to shots but this is only if models and assistants do not mind.

UPDATE: Today I have a small cinema camera which is approved in the independent film industry but I also own a hybrid camera which can also take high quality pictures also. I am now creating photos via screenshots so these can now be used in portfolios if models like a particular shot but these will only be at 2K or 4K resolution depending on final digital intermediate of the video. The images in my port are all from my videos so you get an idea of the look.

 

Lastly I do tend to laugh a lot, sing random songs and maybe do a little dance during a shoot but still work hard to get the right images but I just always try to have as much fun as possible. Drop me a message if you're interested :) x
