Had an amazing shoot with the lovely Rene during my first tour to the Netherlands at my hired apartment near Amsterdam. We did the first hour as a solo and the second hour as a duet with Tania Aresti who I was touring with.

Prior to shooting pre-communication was absolutely excellent and everything was so easy to plan and organise.

On the day of shooting Rene arrived promptly and ready to shoot. He was really friendly and easy to get on with. We had a good chat and a relaxed yet productive solo session doing a few different looks and themes before Tania arrived for the duo. The duet went really well and Rene was really good at giving directions to both models and finding out poses and ideas that worked for both of us the three of us got along wonderfully and had a really great session.

I 110% recommended Rene and can’t thank him enough for such a fab shoot!

I had a truly delightful shoot with Rene during a tour of the Netherlands I was doing at this time: it was my first tour of the year and there’s nothing like having a great and productive start by getting to work with lovely people. :)

Our communications started here on Purpleport where Rene applied to a casting I had out... We were just about able to make our availability match with us both having quite tight schedules, but one things for certain: Rene was a brilliant communicator and this enabled me to get sorted as quickly as possible with trains and accommodation which is probably the biggest work load to sort when travelling. Especially in a different country! The shooting part is the fun and enjoyable part really! :D

Rene very kindly collected me from my guest house where I had stayed the night before: he came in to help me with my ridiculously big suitcase which even the lady at the guest house was utterly flabbergasted by haha! :P Upon arrival at his home where he also has his own studio setup: the atmosphere was completely relaxed and not rushed at all, even though we had a short shoot booked! He and his lovely wife offered me tea and even bought croissants in to snack on! I was not possible to be looked after in any better way. :D I felt very safe and happy from the outset and had my own private changing space/room with mirrors galore to check outfits and makeup - all the boxes were definitely ticked before the shooting even began!

The shoot itself was very productive: Rene has a superb eye for an image and very clearly knows what he likes when he pursues a vision. He can offer good direction but also lets the model do their thing also, meaning you get a good mix of everyone’s creative contribution in the shoot. His place is great for more natural/available light shots - we did some lovely soft and emotive portraits! But he also has lighting to then produce more light and shadows with other styles of image. Rene is extremely diverse as a photographer and enjoys working on a variety of styles: so if a model may only work across some specific genres then it’s fine because Rene is more looking for artistic value and emotive images. Which he does very well indeed! :D

A very wonderful person with a heart of gold... Rene goes out of his way to deliver the best in professionalism and good etiquette which means models can rest assured they will feel comfortable at all times. He is also very chatty and just generally fun to work with: I recall us talking about a whole range of topics as we worked (more evidence of a very relaxed shoot!) and the time just flew by so quickly! Rene also kindly allowed me to take “snapshots” of the work we were getting for a little behind-the-scenes post on my social media. Because when a shoot is awesome, you want to shout about it right? :D

Very, VERY highly recommend!! Thank you so much Rene for wanting to shoot with me on my Holland tour - I hope very much that we can fix a repeat shoot some time in the future!

I had a great experience shooting with Rene, he is a great and lovely guy.

The photoshoot was lovely. He was very positive, fun, polite, caring photographer and I can definitely recommend other model to work with him :)
