First time visiting Rod and his studio space (returning into a studio environment after nearly 10 years!

Rod was very warm and welcoming and provided refreshments for us. He was amazing to talk to and was really valued in the light set up of the various shoots we managed today.

The space itself is wonderful - lots to choose from and with his guidance we managed to achieve alot.

I would HIGHLY recommend Raw Pics studio, and cannot wait to return to work on some other projects!

Rod was our extremely accommodating host on a duo group shoot day at his studio, and I wanted to give a personal reference as he was just so lovely and welcoming and accommodating, and I can't wait to come back and shoot with him soon!

Today I had an amazing first shoot with Rod and not only was it very enjoyable but we created some wonderful images!!

I've known Rod for a while as I shoot at his amazing studio - Rawpics - quite often. This is the first time that we've shot together and building on an excellent rapport we just went straight into a Neo-classical themed shoot on a set Rod designed himself.

The set was outstanding and Rod worked super hard to get the lighting right - as always Rod was fun to be around, professional, respectful, and super productive.

I really enjoyed working through 4 looks in our two hour shoot and we worked very well together.

For anyone who hasn't yet had the pleasure of working with Rod then I highly recommend him - and if you haven't worked at Rawpics yet then you are missing out!!

After coming to Rods studio (Rawpics) several times, I’ve finally had the pleasure to work with rod as a photographer. Rod had created and set up a fantastic scene, and knew exactly what he wanted to capture. He’s super easy going and always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. We did some fab work outside with floaty fabric, and the pictures were so cool!! I’d highly recommend Rod to any model, he’s so easy to get along with and is creative in his work too. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to work with Rod again in the future :)

Organised Chaos

I had my first shoot at Rod's studio yesterday on a 4 hour shoot with Victoria Summers.

First totally spectacular location the studio is very large & had in it a 60's MGA I was able to use as a prop for Victoria.

There is an abundance of lighting there really fun backdrops & the outdoors is totally in a total upper level as they are extensive with so many trees,plants,bushes & nooks to shoot in & it is secluded so it's perfect for things up to art nude.

Rod is the best host & exceptional photographer super friendly & helping with making suggestions & with a new clicker like me it is totally so needed to have his input as I asked for that input & if I had not I would have missed so many shots as it is a big help to have the asked help.

I had an amazing period costume photoshoot organised by myself and Rod of Rawpics Studio. This was a precursor to a workshop that Peter, Rod and I are planning for later this year at the same outdoor venue. Rod is excellent at organising and promoting shoots at his studio and this shoot at a beautiful venue instead was just as well organised and executed. I was excited to work at the gorgeous venue we had chosen and Rod was happy to roll with ideas I had for location setups to get some striking images that really suited the theme we had chosen. Special mention to his commitment to “getting the shot” when a water fountain almost drenched, him, myself and the camera in the process of capturing that perfect image! I am very much looking forward to the workshops later this year, with the same team and I would always recommend Rod and Raw Pics studio. Rod is particularly good at making events run smoothly and putting everyone at ease and making it a fun day for all involved. Also managed to get some great photos and reels from the day.

I has a pleasure to shoot with Rod during out studio day at his Rawpics studio in Ilminster. Rod had some nice ideas for our shoot and we as a nice team implemented them really successfully. Rod knows a lot of light techniques ,so we did our best,and I am really pleased with the results. Rod created a nice and friendly atmosphere throughout the shoot and I really enjoyed it

He had me feel very comfortable in his studio. And we also got to shoot together and got some cracking shots.

Yesterday I worked with Rod for the second time. He is an amazing guy and photographer! He always had the most creative ideas when it comes to photography and is always thinking outside the box. You can see that from the images we have taken together, they're all so different from anything else I've seen before. He always inspires us to get the best possible photo when working together and has a great supportive energy. When shooting with Rod he is extremely clear on what he is looking for and always helps out with directions timing and ideas. It is without a doubt I highly recommend Rod and I very much looking forward to working with him again soon.

Today I worked with Rod at his studio Raw Pics Studios with David Wall on a dance shoot. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the shoot and felt all of us had an end goal which we all worked together to achieve which we did. I love how creative and unique Rod is with his photography always thinking outside the box, and seeing what he can do different. Rod is such a nice and caring guy, and always is thinking about the models safety before anything. I recommend Rod 100000% He is a fantastic photographer and very talented at shooting all genres of photography.

I had an absolute blast working with Rod the other day! I chose him to capture the images of me when I was working with Siena and he nailed it! Doing this shoot was out of my comfort zone so Rod helped me get some images and focus more on my portrait posing! It was an absolute delight to work with him, he came on time to pick us up and we got straight to it! We have some beautiful images and I cannot wait to show you guys!

I am so pleased I got to shoot with Rod on my recent studio day at Rawpics. Rod being the owner was around throughout the day to help with lighting and make sure everything went smoothly. At the end on the day I had an hour left so we shot some promotional material together alongside my partner Kieran Dahl, Rod was kind enough to show us both a few lighting techniques.

Rods knowledge on lighting is fantastic, we played with a variety of sets from long shadows across the infinity cove to aerial hoop and finished with some dark moody theatrical lighting. Rod took each set in his stride and nailed the lighting effects to a T!

I really enjoyed working with Rod and I look forward to creating more with him in the future :)

I have worked with Rod 3 times now, twice at his studio (Rawpics Studio) and one on location.

He is an absolute pleasure to work with. Working with him is very relaxed and enjoyable. He was very easy to communicate with before the shoot so i could plan any specific styles of dancewear or clothes to bring. On both the studio shoots and the location we managed to create very interesting images that I haven't done before. He is very understanding with getting my dance technique correct and allowing me to check through the final photos. This meant I could show him which are classically best for me.

I would without hesitation highly recommend booking him for a shoot!

Xclusive Magic Photography

Took some time out to view the excellent new studio facility being developed by Rod. Set in idyllic well kept spacious country gardens (Equally superb outdoor scenery to shoot with).

The converted barn has just about as much space as you will ever likely to need for most photography styles. This is particularly noteworthy at the moment of course as both the inside and outside facilities of Rod's, I have no doubt are going to be a lot less stressful for all concerned in finding our way through working on photography projects during these strange coronavirus times we find ourselves in with all the associated social distancing and precautions we need to take.

I believe Rod to be the perfect host and am very much looking forward with excited anticipation to booking my own shoots in at this venue.

Rod was one of 3 photographers at a workshop run by English Photoworks. It was a fantastic day, really relaxed and enjoyable. Everyone was friendly, professional and easy going.

It was a pleasure to meet Rod and his manner was great on set, giving me positive feedback and communicating direction well.

It was great to meet Rod recently when he attended a workshop at my studio. He's friendly, professional and an excellent photographer. Rod attended a recent Christmas social shoot at the studio with models Camy and Samara. It was great to see Rod at the studio again; he was a complete professional, worked well with everyone and was a pleasure to have at the studio. Highly recommended.
