Had the pleasure in working at rainbow studio today.Gary was very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of sets including a natural light window and more outside the main studio which I didn't get chance to use but will next time.There is also a large amount of lighting available to use.

There was an Idea with lighting I wanted to try which I knew would be hard to achieve. Gary having thought about it for a while and with a few test shots absolutely nailed it.

I cannot recommend rainbow studio enough and will certainly be using it again.

Had a photoshoot today at Rainbow Studios at Hope Mill.

It was my first time, the studio has the required equipment available to be used, located in Ancoats just a few minutes from Manchester City Centre, buses and Tram close by.

Gary Mack assisted me with the setup and provided guidance when required.

I recommend this awesome studio to all models and photographers looking for an accessible and equipped with the necessary accessories for professional shoot.

Thank you Gary for your support, will keep in touch for future shots.

Camelot Photography

Had my second shoot here almost a year since the first. I was shooting with the same model and both her and the studio have developed in the intervening period. It’s only a small space but it’s amazing what can be achieved in the space. There is a possibility that shots can also be taken in other parts of the mill which I’ve yet to try. Gary is very helpful and a joy to work with and I know I will be back. Happy to recommend.

Took part in a group shoot today at Rainbow Studio in Manchester. I have to say that this an excellent facility. Well equiped and well run and most pleasantly operated by Dave. The icing on the cake is the building it is situated in with lots of opportunities for natural light shooting.

Very highly recommended.

I have just finished a weekend at Rainbow studio. As always it was a pleasure to shoot at the studio and work with Gary and Dave.

The studio is well equipped and we got through so many sets in the studio. It also is close to some great outdoor locations too.

Great at setting up, pre comms, organisation and great hosts.

I very highly recommend using Rainbow Studio to both models and photographers!

Attended a group shoot recently, well organised and a great shooting space.

Loads of lights available along with props and accessories to use.

A fab day was had with both studio and location being used and there are loads of possibilities close by if the weather is good to give you a different look.

What a fantastic studio this is, Plenty of options to shoot around the studio and outside too. Gary is so helpful, he really went out of his way to make my studio day run smoothly, nothing was too much trouble for him. I would to to return, highly recommended!

22nd April 2017. Rainbow Studios held a studio day for Bristol Model Laylalee in Manchester. The studio is in a complex of likeminded creatives and next door to a theatre. With that amount of creative influences’ in the air it is a small but a fabulous place to work, Gary and his assistant Dave gave me a great welcome. The pair of them made such significant efforts not only to get the lighting right for the shots, also suggested lighting set up . The studio has a nice north facing window which is great for portraits and natural light Outside Gary showed me the best places and with a simple reflector we had great fill in lights. The studio is situated in Ancoats area of Manchester and outside there are modern trams and canals giving a wonderful base for a full day shoot with one or more models

Gary and his studio, I cannot help but give him 100% for everything including a detailed access details to the studio which were very easy to follow. His precomms are also superb. In a word everything a photographer would need Thanks Gary see you again soon

Enjoyed a fabulous assisted one to one shoot at Rainbow Studio yesterday with a fantastic model (Ellie Jane Hadleigh), immensely ably assisted by Gary (McIver). Through pre-shoot communications I'd planned a range of shoot sets, a couple of sets outside the studio and a few sets in the studio. Gary was already well prepared when I arrived, we briefly discussed my pre-shoot comms and Gary very helpfully suggested some tweaks to my ideas. We went with what we agreed, with all the sets both outside the studio (using natural light and reflector) and inside (using a good variety of studio lighting set ups) and the whole shoot was an amazing success. I've looked through all the images we achieved and I'm absolutely delighted. I now have the joy ahead of me of deciding which of many images to share on photography/social media sites and upload onto Purpleport. Gary, enormous thanks for all the help in the form of guidance and assistance you provided throughout this shoot and for your wealth of photographic talent which underpinned it. Very highly recommended.

My first shoot at Rainbow Studio and I was a little nervous as I was shooting with a young model who had about as much experience as me - very little. Gary was very helpful from the outset when I started looking for a studio to use and he effectively answered my casting call. Commas were fantastic from pre-booking to paying the hire charge at the end of the shoot.

As others have said the studio is one of a number of 'artsy' businesses located in tan old mill in Manchester. The studio space itself is not the largest but as long as you watch your feet it's perfectly adequate. What is doesn't lack is lighting and accessories and there are a number of different areas where you can shoot. Gary was on-hand throughout the shoot and as a novice I greatly welcomed the suggestions he made. I have had a quick look at the RAW images and there are more than a few keepers.

I would happily return to the studio and the mill and I happily recommend it to other togs.

Enjoyed a very rewarding 2 hours 1 to 1 shoot with Arielle Jammy Fox as part of her studio weekend at Rainbow Studio arranged by Dave (Edwards) and Gary (McIver). I'm somewhat a novice at studio shoots and during pre-shoot comms Gary very kindly offered me help for my shoot regarding setting up the studio lighting. Prior to the shoot I communicated my ideas, for four different shoot sets in the studio and Gary very ably facilitated each shoot set by arranging and setting up the lighting perfectly. I know Gary through a photography club he runs, he's a great guy, has loads of photography experience and is happy to pass his knowledge and skills on and in an amiable witty manner. The whole shoot was brilliant and as a facilitator-photographer-model team we achieved lots and lots of amazing images which I'm extremely pleased with, so much so that I think my 'success rate' of stunning images on this shoot has been my best ever so far since my first shoot with a model 12 months ago. The whole of my shoot took place in the studio but there are in addition wonderful opportunities to shoot elsewhere within the former mill premises. I highly recommend this studio and hosts Gary and Dave. Thanks Dave for arranging the weekend and Gary for all your kind assistance which helped make my shoot such a fabulous success.

I shot at Rainbow studios for the first time last weekend, saturday for a slot day and then a group shoot on the Sunday.

The day was organised by Gary who runs the studio and Dave Edwards. I had such an amazing weekend with them all.

The studio is a great space, fully equipped, natural light corner, outside area's to shoot are endless with it being an old mill. The building is warm which is a real bonus for us models, I didn't feel cold once :)

A cosy,cool studio in a funky arty building, so much to choose from.

Gary who runs the studio is a lovely friendly person, on hand to offer help when needed for all your shooting needs.

I can't wait to go back.

Shot today at this cracking little studio with Dave, Derek, Gary and the awesome Mel tongue had a brilliant time really relaxing and easy going Dave and Gary are really helpful. Lighting set up is great plenty of light modifiers strips beauty dishes u name it it was there also a large window for soft natural light. My favourite wall is the black stone with what i can only describe as a rolling heavy duty hatch door with loads of texture really great backdrop for me.Plenty of tea & coffee and Jaffa Cakes which Mel scoffed mostly lol lol. All in all Gary and Dave delivered a awesome shoot in a equally awesome little gem of a studio definately be seeing a lot more of me at RAINBOW STUDIO. Thanks guys for a very enjoyable day see ya soon.

P.S didn't see George, Zippy or Bungle anywhere which was strange lol lol lol

I have just spent a great weekend at Rainbow studios. The studio is in a great location with plenty of free parking. The studio is well equipped and has an awesome door feature.

The host Gary is a great host and was making sure I was comfortable at all times. I got to shoot in all parts of the studio and there was so many options.

I will certainly be recommending this studio!
