References for Rachel Fire Dancer Etherington

Had a brilliant shoot with Rachel this week, making really good use of her amazing skills with Fire and glowing Hula. Her pre-shoot communication was really excellent, discussing and suggesting options for attire for the shoot, with some great ideas that looked great. She turned up bang on time at the location with all her gear, looking fantastic in the outfit she suggested and ready to shoot. The shoot was really good fun and we got some great images. Rachel showed she has amazing talent and skill with Fire Fans, Body Burning and with the hula, working really hard in what was quite a physically active shoot. Her ability to work with fire makes for some really interesting and different images. Hoping to do more work with Rachel in the near future, and would completely recommend working with her.

My first experience of photographing a fire dancer and I could not have had a more accomplished performer that Rachel. She gave a constantly changing performance while I fumbled around with my camera settings until I started to get what I wanted. At the end of the shoot she demonstrated her general modelling skills too. I shall we working with her again.

I was fortunate to attend a fire fan practice with Rachel this week. Rachel is passionate about her art and her experience as a dancer shows. Technically the location in Portsmouth is tricky and additional lighting would help. All in all an excellent shoot and if you get the chance go for it.

I hope to have the opportunity to work with Rachel again later in the year.

Great pre-shoot communication with Rachel; very clear with her information, and very prompt with her replies. You can’t just turn up and shoot anywhere with fire fans, and she knew a great location. And she’s a well-practiced and elegant fire dancer, with lovely moves and poses. Technically, it was a challenging shoot for me, and I don’t think I’ve really done her justice, but Rachel was great. I’d like to work on fire dance photography more, with Rachel.
