A flight of Fantasy.

I was lucky enough to live close to Southampton(Eastleigh) Airport when I was very young and a Spitfire flew out occasionally and the sound of a Rolls Royce Merlin engine still makes my ears prick up. Also in Southampton there is a delightful Aero museum full of all sorts of real planes including a Spitfire kept in beautiful condition. So I looked at one of the images taken there and thought why not cross the tradition of painting pin ups on the fuselage with a fantasy of a Fairy guardian. This what emerged.
