How I Started

I first started out creating YouTube videos as a hobby before I was employed as a videographer at the age of 16 where I would create promotional videos. Whilst creating the promotional material for Taylor's Pitstop, I began studying both Film and Media at Reigate College. During my first year at college I was enrolled and graduated from the BFI Film Academy in partnership with Resource Productions where I received a Silver Arts Award. I then graduated college and was accepted into Falmouth University to continue studying Film. During my first year I was a part of the production team for the South West Farmer Awards 2016, I also joined the production team for Ferocious Films and S2S Media. I continued working on projects outside of my course throughout my second year of university by helping graduates with their graduation projects. I also worked with Boy Better Know during the spring and completed production on a 10 minute short film outside of my course. When I entered into my final year at university, I focused entirely on creating my own graduate short film, 'Headspace' as well as the accompanying coursework and essays. Headspace would later go on to win 15 awards and receive a further 21 nominations around the world.

Post University

Since graduating university, I have started working at Gatwick Airport as a bartender so that I can continue to work on my film making and photography skills outside of my work. I have made a few short lyrics videos as well as a small short film called 'Long Distance', but I have also been working on my photography by shooting more often with as many different models as I can.

 

My Photography Journey

I first started taking photos as a hobby during my time at university, where I could develop my skills when I wasn't studying or gaining experience within the film industry. I started by taking photos of the wonderful landscapes in Cornwall before progressing to photographing my friends. Post-University and moving back home, I started with what I knew which was taking photos of my friends as well as travelling into London to photograph the architecture. Then the pandemic slowed down my progress and I switched back to making short films and lyric videos once restrictions were lifted. When I returned to full time work at the airport, I wasn't able to dedicate as much time to film-making and so I switched back to photography. Where I started using StarNow to cast modelling jobs so that I could progress both my skills and portfolio whilst building relationships with those I worked with. Now that I have a decent sized portfolio and discovering PurplePort, I have switched over to this platform to continue my photography journey.
