I'm just a fella, retired in 2016. I'd used an SLR to take family photos until I managed to borrow a DSLR in 2018.

I've been on Purple Port for nearly three years now and I have to admit it's shown just how much I still have to learn.

I've met and worked with some amazing people since joining, thank you to all of them, especially Rosie, Dee and Ariel who convinced me to persevere, I nearly gave up and sold my gear at the end of August 2020, only the shoot's I had booked prevented me doing so. Thank you Ladies. I am finally starting to get ideas I want to try, most of which will seriously PUSH my ability, hopefully the rest of this years subscription gives me the incentive to carry on because I really enjoy using the camera, I just need the ability now.

The paragraph above was written in 2021 and personally I think I've learned a lot this year, I haven't been able to get out and shoot so often, which has concentrated my attention more, with some help from a few people I'm starting to get up to speed a little. Part of this is also the platforms associated with photography, in my case PurplePort only now, I've had a clear out and deleted a lot of older shots, hopefully at just turned 70 I'll get the hang of this part too now, watch this space over the next few months. I must add a massive vote of thanks to all the models I've worked with, all the studio owners who have welcomed me in and all the other togs who have, mostly, given freely of advice, I had an FPI over Christmas last year, I've set myself a goal of gaining at least one more by year end,(which didn't happen, I'm still persevering though, so maybe??)

Just coming up to half way through the year and I'm going to concentrate on my photography, stop trying to do wierd and wacky edits, because I can't. In future all that will appear on my Port are basic, hopefully very good shot's that I and the model had fun obtaining together.
