MY WORLD OF VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY

I am a Visual Anthropologist. Although.I am affiliated with any academic institution at this time, my artistic sensibility is built around the idea of documenting people and places. I want to create art that is thought provoking. I want my images to tell stories. Sometimes I want to convey a specific idea (see the images FUCK CANCER and FEAR NO ART). Sometimes, I want my images to imply a story that viewers can fill in on their own. What is that woman in SMOKIN' IN THE BOYS ROOM up to?

Subcultures - Punks, Goths, Rockers, Cyberpunk, EDM
Alternative lifestyles - Fetishists, LBGTQ,  Modern Primitive
Performers - Circus, Sideshow, Burlesque, Musicians, Cosplayer, Contortionists,
Life Cycle/Life Changes - Maternity, Living with chronic illness, surviving trauma
I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

How I Work

Since I developed my craft shooting concerts and documenting events, my shooting style is laid back. I thrive working in collaboration with models who have a strong sense of self and who bring ideas to the shoot. I do give direction. I do set up shots, I give my models a lot of room to improvise and riff on ideas. Some of the best images are the happy accidents.

PROJECTS IN NEED OF COLLABORATORS:

ROADSIDE ATTRACTIONS
I am looking for adventurous models to do some guerrilla style shooting on the back roads of Florida. There are hundreds of abandoned or neglected attractions off the current main roads. What I'd like to do is go on a day-trip with a model in search of cool locations we can do a quick hit and run photoshoot at. Ideally, she should be open to nudity in semi-public places. For something like this, a model with a good sense of herself is ideal. Someone who contributes ideas is welcome too. I want someone who isn't afraid to say, "hey, look at that abandoned citrus stand. Let's try something there!"

REPRESENTATION MATTERS
My goal is to capture beauty. Beauty has many forms and I want to work with models who have unconventional looks. I want to make images that bring folks to the gallery who may not be typical "model types." 
I want to work with people of every imaginable ethnicity. What do YOU have to contribute to the conversation?
I want to work with people of all abilities. Are you a veteran who came home with scars, burns, maybe even amputations? You are still beautiful, so let's make the world see that you are more than people think.
