I did several profil portraits of this model and this one is my favourite.
We are fortunate to be able to browse through extensive portfolios before choosing a model or photographer. Despite her well stocked portofolio, nothing in it prepared me for this photograph.
As we were shooting, I saw this profile and immediately thought of Fra Angelico or Fra Filippo. Since we were outside, I aimed for a natural look. The shallow depth of field gives the wall a nice texture and makes the face pop - the dark niche and hair accentuate the chin and the neck.
