Hello

I am a semi professional photographer based in the East Midlands.  I often photograph from home, but really enjoy the opportunity to travel worldwide with my camera to as many different and varied locations as I can.  My photography interests cover a very wide range of both subjects and styles from wildlife through to portraits with many other photographic types in between.
My travel photography includes everything from mountain tops to seascapes, remote islands, and lighthouses.
Indeed, I like all marine, coastal, and sea activity, am a qualified yacht skipper and have experience racing in the Caribbean, sailed around Britain in a single continuous journey, and recently completed the Rolex Fastnet yacht race capturing many images.

I enjoy running my own workshops as well as guiding for companies.  Can often be found showing my images at talks for various camera clubs, wildlife groups, and many other organisations.
Have an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), and have also won many photography awards.

Several of my images have been published in magazines and books.  These include single images, articles, gear reviews, and I have written features.  Publications include:  the RPS Journal,  BBC Countryfile magazine, and various trade journals.  My images have featured in several exhibitions including at the headquarters of the John Muir Trust conservation organisation in Perth, Scotland.  I have had front cover images on books including one of a rare butterfly species in a habitat guide for the wildlife charity Butterfly Conservation.  Calendar and Christmas card images also for The John Muir Trust, along with several years running in the Trinity House calendar which is the organisation looking after lighthouses in England and Wales.

I embrace modern technology especially drones, and have now used them for several years both commercially and for my personal photography.  I am registered pilot of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and hold qualifications with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and am fully insured.  Also like other new technology such as action cams, and even the odd shot using my smart phone!
