Based out in the wilds of Norfolk, specialising in creating mask, head wear and full look couture, Ashley has created some of the most unique and spectacular designs for clients internationally within the fashion, entertainment and media industries, including: US rock stars, celebrity stylists, designers and prime time TV shows.

Ashley’s creative ambitions were honed from a very early age, touring craft fairs with his parents, where cast-off jewellery, clothing and fabrics were salvaged and transformed into everything from puppets and masks, to intricately designed hats and costumes. With his young innate eye for “creating magical carriages from pumpkins” and his later flair for making a stylist’s brief come to mystical fruition, the name Mystic Magic remains as truly apt as when Ashley created it in 2005.

Inspired by his idol, designer Alexander McQueen, Ashley’s out of the box style and ambitions were first ignited at high school as due to his desire for memorable headwear and by way of creating his own sense of happiness, it helped in some way, to combat the severe bullying he was subjected to throughout his school years…

So, by the time he left education, he’d already designed many pieces which the young entrepreneur had started to sell for parties and weddings, setting up his own fashion business, Mystic Magic.

Driven by getting his brand known, an ambitious Ashley designed and built his own website and social media platforms from scratch. With the launch of his online shop, magazine and media exposure soon followed with sales and commissions coming in from across the UK… and eventually further afield, Australia, USA, Europe and even Hawaii!

Ashley’s designs were soon in demand with top stylists, photographers and fashion editors, appearing in: Vogue, Tatler and Schön along with commissions, including on the cat walk for Paloma Faith’s stylist at The Clothes Show Live, BBC TVs “Strictly Come Dancing” and European fashion spectacular, Zurich Energy Fashion Night.

Perhaps it was thanks to the celebrity performers’ on “Strictly”, showcasing such spectacular head wear – that Mystic Magic was also to receive a letter of interest from Kensington Palace!

Ashley’s work was recognised last year, when he was nominated and became a finalist for Designer of The Year 2016

Summer 2017 saw the launch of Mystic Magic’s first formal millinery head wear collection with many of his couture pieces being adorned at a variety of prestigious summer events including a hat design worn to the Ascot Dubai Cup.

The latest chapter to his ever-evolving journey has seen Ashley’s designs feature in a big budget Sci-Fi movie, “The Arc of Nirvana”, to be released next year and for top photographer Rankin, in his latest Hunger magazine fashion shoot, Ashley’s head wear being modelled by ballet superstar Sergei Polunin.

To compliment his masks /head wear and at the request of many clients, Ashley has this Autumn launched his label’s first full look collection. Unique, extravagant, edgy and with of course the Mystic Magic twist!
