Picture stories
With my pictures I try to stimulate the fantasy of the viewer.
They usually show something unexpected, surprising and hopefully trigger the question what is happening both inside and outside of the frame.
Upon looking closer the viewer often finds more information/clues in the image, but there remain points to be guessed and filled in by the viewer.
For me, an image is a success when the viewer has a flash back of it the next day.
My work is conceptual, the image is first created in the mind and then realized to produce the image. So the models in my work are like actors, playing a role. As this is not always suitable for the model's portfolio I am happy to pay a reasonable fee for the model..
