Part of a new series of photos shot with the 10th Essex Living History Group recently.
A bit different from the last three portraits. The photos, paintings and drawings of mask wearing soldiers with bayonet fixed advancing through smoke and gas has always been one of the images of the first world war that left a lasting impression.
It's something I've wanted to shoot for a while. Was a great learning experience using smoke grenades in less than ideal conditions, but we got some great results.
