References for Markus Photography

It was great to get the opportunity to work with Mark! :D We had initially started talking at the end of one of my previous visits to Inverness, sadly unable to shoot on that occasion - but fair play to Mark for reaching out because this meant that we were right on it for the next time I dragged my booty up North. And what a lovely shoot we had as well over half a day of studio creativity.

Mark was excellent with his pre-shoot communications; we were able to discuss the various styles and looks he wanted to shoot which enabled me to be nice and prepped because quite often: when I travel so far out I would normally leave home around a week (or more) before the dates I have shoots further afield because I'll shoot on the way as part of my tour - point being that good communication from photographers like Mark allows me to do my job the best I can. :D So thank you Mark for just being awesome from that angle! We were to concentrate a lot on bodyscapes but with creative fashion and portraiture thrown in as well so it was a lovely varied shoot covering quite a host of looks around some more specific genres that we spoke about shooting. But all was good in the time leading up and I was really looking forward to working with Mark during my gigantic Scotland tour.

On the day (working at Lighthouse Studio) Mark came really well prepped, even bringing some props and accessories to feature within some of the shots. We got cracking with a good flow from the start and benefited from a lovely rapport since, although Mark approaches a shoot knowing what he wants to achieve from it, he makes the models input just as important a feature to the shoot as well so it was a good and productive vibe from the word go. When we got to the bodyscapes - this is where the lighting challenges begin because it's really not as easy as initially though with lighting positioning etc. But Mark had tremendous patience and focus to carefully sculpt the shots he wanted and communicating with me at all times - when modelling this style it almost becomes a yoga-like exercise so thee will be times when a big breath of air is needed before the concentration resumes. but we had a great system going which meant we were blessed with better results from that prolific teamwork. :)

Mark was a real professional too, very courteous and respectful: always making certain I was comfortable with everything and communicating throughout the shoot. It really is the best way to be because it takes everyone on board to make the shoot a success and when everyone is happy/relaxed then things just work so much better. But it completely goes without question - this photographer is a true gentleman whom I would not hesitate to recommend to other models who find themselves touring Inverness. Mark even kindly let me take some back-of-camera shots for my "behind-the-scenes" social media post and even sent me some edits afterwards.

I have worked with Mark numerous times now and most recently on a studio shoot in Inverness. Always a total joy to work with and full of great ideas. A true professional, first class communication and a credit to the industry. I very highly recommend him to everyone and look forward to working with him again soon.
