My photography journey 

I had limited photography ambitions for 2023 but I did manage to tick off a few. I learnt how to improve my photography in natural light, I made good contacts on PP, I got my first FPI, I got my images seen by a bigger audience, I did my first amazing home shoot, won a PP competition, and I did a duo shoot.

2024 aims and ambitions

I don’t know what 2024 holds but as a continuing hobbyist I may become a bit more discerning about what I shoot, and who I work with. I will look to work more with the models I know will bring both the results I’m looking for, and a friendly approach to the shoot. 

I still want to try an outdoor shoot, and look at some themed projects/concepts. I also need to learn more about studio lighting, and capturing movement. Photography remains a relatively expensive hobby for me, and as such I need to enjoy and value, the time I spend doing it, and see personal development and progress.

At present I have no interest in remote shooting, group shots, or group trips.

I am accumulating a lot of images and what I do with them is another question for a hobbyist to ponder. At present the quest for improvement drives me forward, and I want a portfolio that represents just the best of my work.

What do I enjoy photographing?   

In terms of what I enjoyed shooting in 2023 it was portrait, dance/fitness, black and white, ballet concepts and tasteful art nude. I do have a lot of ideas during a shoot, and a lot of those ideas don’t work, but I do like to keep trying!
