I started as an amateur landscape photographer and slowly moved to portrait photography. I turned into a semi professional photographer after giving up my regular job and had (until recently)a fully equipped home studio in Bolton. I have given up my place in Bolton and moved to Manchester.
I like to do portraits, fashion, glamour and artistic images, am always looking for new experiences and would love to work with models and make up artists who are open to new challenges. I am willing to do most types of photography except adult and bondage. I am a very friendly and and patient photographer and would be happy to work with new and upcoming models to build their portfolio.
Professionalism/Cancellation
Models who work with me can expect to be treated like a professional but I would expect the same in [url removed]e will be a break or two during a three hour shoot. However "no shows" or less than 24 hours for cancellation (without satisfactory explanation), would be considered unprofessional behaviour and I may leave a no show reference. I had a model once who sent me a text to cancel the photo shoot twenty minutes after the shoot was due to start. She had only just found out that I was working from a home studio and didn't think it was professional to work in that situation! There are models here who work from their homes and some who prefer working that way. I would not consider that unprofessional! Would you? Professionalism is about how the photographer and the model treat each other and their clients, both before, during and after a shoot. That of course, is my opinion.
Use of chaperones
Models who like to work with chaperones are very welcome but I would request you to follow some guidelines. Please inform me at the time of booking that you would be coming to the studio with a chaperone as I will need to make space for your chaperone. Please do not turn up with a chaperone without informing me. Please do not keep looking at the chaperone or seeking his or her approval after each image capture. The chaperone is also not allowed to make suggestions for posing or allowed to take images on a mobile phone during the shoot. All these have happened to me in the past and I would not like to have them repeated.
Finally the subject of
Teenage models
From now on, I will work with teenage models only if they are agency represented. I had too many cancellations at the last minute citing very silly reasons from teenage models recently. The 'best' excuse came from a model who had just turned eighteen and she was due to come in for the photo shoot with her mother. "It was not my fault. I was forced to do a ballet lesson at the time I was meant to do the shoot. My mother took my phone away from me and so I couldn't inform you. Can we do the shoot on another day?"
