I am here because I love studio photography. I love beautiful lighting and meaningful composition for compelling images with my models.  We don't always succeed, but what a rush when we do. I will compensate you with digital copies of your best images, gas money, and a professional giclee' print of the best image (your choice).

I'm a retired advertising photographer/photography teacher with 40 years full-time professional experience. All of my PurplePort images were created since my retirement in my newly constructed studio. As you can see, I love  classic lighting, dramatic portraits, story portraits, strong design with a little bit of sci-fi thrown in occasionally.

My current portfolio has a lot of images of Jake Somnath, who is represented by DuvallMac Talent, because we both like shooting on a regular basis. I'm not sure why more models aren't like him in that regard, but we have become good friends and the results show in the images he provides his agents.

My models are always welcome to bring a relative or friend to our shoots. I am shooting models only for art/portfolio creation. No commercial model release is needed from you as I do not license or sell my model images for commercial usage. In the rare occasion, someone wants to license one of my portfolio images commercially, I will get in touch with my model or their agent to negotiate the proper professional pay and paperwork.
