"Freedom" is the word that comes to mind most often when I shoot nudes. It's the motivation one of my first nude models explained to me, just the one word, with a teasing half a smile. But right away, I understood. It's the freedom to step away from the world for an hour or two, freedom from constraints, from inhibitions. Freedom to be, to do, to create.
Photo shoots, for me, are a collaboration between photographer and model, each on their respective side of the camera. An exploration, each of the other, and of the self. When freedom meets exploration, beauty results.
