Working with Mal will NEVER cease to be a blast! :D I’m literally buzzing whenever we can make mutual availability work if I’m touring in Newcastle... And each shoot is always a little different too!

This time was our first go outside of the usual photography studio environment. We shot at Mal’s place which gave us a totally different level of inspiration to create stories and “sets” around the place using predominantly natural light! NAILED IT!!! You could put Mal in any shooting situation mind you and he really would adapt with pro aptitude to make use of the technical resources (light and angles) to create a sublime image in camera. He’s got a brilliant eye for an image, with every pose I struck; Mal was working to frame beautifully or shooting across (and dodging furniture which added mood, depth and atmosphere to the shot... He’s insanely talented, which is why it’s always something to look forward to when I’ve got a shoot booked with him; creatively Mal knows exactly where he wants to go in his own mind: but then works off what the model brings as well and between that bounce and working rapport - the ideas (and fab photographs!) are rocking and rolling! :D

Mal has already worked out and assessed what potential there was in different rooms and areas which was awesome for hatching a general plan. Then (as usually goes when working together) brainwaves popped up here and we saw little opportunities there; Mal’s place is brilliant for lovely lifestyle images/portraits using window light and then through to glamour in the lounge and more classic “boudoir” in more of a studio-flash scenario which Mal can assemble in no time at all. Any model due to be working at his place will no-doubt have their own little “light bulbs” come on inside their head... The biggest problem we had was actually just running out of time! :P If I came back to shoot at Mal’s, there’s dozens more things I could think to shoot either from outfits that I didn’t have on the day/or things which annoyingly come to you after the event haha! We’ve all been there right? But there’s MASSES of potential for sure. And working with someone as good as Mal: a guarantee for lush pictures. He can deal with any amount of sunlight playing games and dipping in-and-out, he works DAMN hard to smash the best perspectives; even if it means him ending up in a weird/uncomfortable position to catch the moment haha! Just amazeballs really... Amazeballs.

So about Mal as a person to work with? Well he needs a medal for shooting with me for a third time now; I know that much! But on a serious note - he’s a really cool guy who only wants to ensure that the models he works with are safe and happy (no matter where the location, what the styles of the shoot). I cannot commend him highly enough for his wonderful continued professionalism and kindness when we’ve shot together. He’s someone I recommend to the moon and back, any day of the week! And also a mega person to have for company as you work... Goodness we chat about all sorts and ramble on worse than a pair of little old ladies discussing Coronation Street! :P Did I mention that you will not find a more laid-back human in this industry. Period. When he kindly picked me up from the station, I was doing my makeup in the car to ensure I was ready as we got to his: he assured me to relax/not rush and poke my eye with the mascara brush and do it when we got there. A 24 carat gem this one! :)

Fab communicator, fab photographer, fab humour, fab etiquette... I’ll be certainly working with Mal again if he’s insane enough! :P

Shooting with Mal was an absolute dream - he is such a dude, funny, respectful and ever so epic to work with!

A very cool way with the camera, the images looked amazing and he put me instantly at ease with his awesome sense of humour, it was like we'd shot before many times!

I can't recommend this fantastic fellow enough to all, while it's sad that this is the only time I got to shoot with Mal - I'm very glad I got the chance to!

He's very much placed in the ever so cool dude category :)

I met Mal yesterday at a group shoot at Loud and Flashy and I am so glad I did! He is friendly, chatty and we got on so well. He has a great eye for detail and we really clicked during the shoot. He is very easy to work with, gives good direction and you can really see his passion for photography and that just shows even more in his images. Just wow! They are incredible!

I really hope I get the chance to work with him again in the future and I would 100% recommend working with him. Thanks Mal!

I recently had the pleasure of shooting with Mal for the second time last week. Pre communication with Mal was excellent as ever and they had a strong vision of what they wanted to capture!

As ever, Mal was incredibly respectful polite and enthusiastic, and we seemed to spend most of our time chatting! 😊

Mal gives clear direction on set and is very easy to work with, I would highly recommend them and lok forward to joining forces with them again in the future!

My first shoot with Mal was pure epicness - we had been in touch for a while before availability finally collided with brilliance to follow during the shoot. So, when Mal was free for yet a second time when I was popping by Newcastle - of course I was completely buzzing! :D

We worked again at the terrific studio space that is Loud And Flashy in Ashington - a place that offers both natural light and studio setups. Mal is absolutely fantastic at balancing the light too which gave us some absolutely outstanding results! The time really flew by just like before; 4 hours just seemed to disappear! We did glam, we did casual, we did fashion with a twist... That's not the mention the crazily good floortraits! To be fair, we were on a roll without a shadow of doubt. Reviewing the back of the camera was such a exciting moment after each "look" that we nailed. I think the second time you work together as well that you automatically have an enhanced productive rapport ready and waiting. This was totally the case as each vision was bagged and ticked-off! :D

Mal has an endless supply of passion for his photography work and it seriously does shine when you work with him. It matters not what the style/genre of the moment could be - he will do his thing and tinker with the lights to give a beautifully complimenting effect - and subsequently create a fine photograph from said moment. It's particular nice as well when you start on a boom and end with a double-boom - quite literally the stunning work was being churned out from start to finish. A shoot like this you just come away feeling every inch positive at the teamwork and rewards gained from the creative bouncing off one another then went on throughout the course of the shoot. Mal's efforts to get the shots though - I can't reiterate enough! Finishing up balancing on a high step ladder pretty much sums-up the drive that was going down from this fab photographer.

Same Ol' lovely and professional approach too. :) 100% definitely a gentleman I recommend to the moon and back. He always comes with such awesome and respectful etiquette, treating the model like a valued member of part of a team (which is essentially what model photography is if more than one person is involved in a shoot). His communications are always brilliant and we probably get just as much nattering done on the shoot as we di making pictures! Yet at the end there are so many corker in the camera you think: "Gosh, how is it physically possible to get so much done when the vibe has been so chilled and relaxed?" Some crazy time-tinkering shenanigans going on somewhere haha! :P I'll say it all again and again though: Mal is a top person and photographer who I really enjoyed working with - it doesn't even need stating that I am already looking forward to hopefully working together again in 2019 if our calendars operate accordingly! Watch this space! :P

Had an absolutely brilliant shoot with Mal in the lovely sunshine, had a great laugh & was really enjoyable, time went so quick wish we had more time, looking forward to the images as I seen previews they looked good already, looking forward to working with him again. Definitely a really good, kind & comfortable photographer to work with.

Mal is absolutely lovely, we had an excellent shoot at Loud and Flashy studio in the Newcastle area, after I applied for a casting call that he had put up a couple of days before - an absolute dream to work with!

We started with some fashion and fashion nude, chatting non-stop whilst shooting - dunno how we got one single shot of me not smiling, talking or making a face! Well, am sure there was :D

Mal is a friendly soul, chatty, respectful and very creative; would work again with him in a blink of an eye. Such a top dude. Would highly recommend him to all models.

I had just the most banging shoot ever with Mal! :D :D :D

You know when planning a shoot has been on the agenda for a while, you've kept in touch with touring plans and what-not but not managed to strike mutual availability... Well this shoot is complete evidence as to why you should always stay positive that you'll get there eventually and nail it. We nailed it!!! It was honestly SOO worth the wait to catch each other on just the right day, Mal was absolutely a star with communications: he's always got back to be very promptly when I've been under crazy pressure to plan a tour or plan shoots etc. He's also so patient and understanding of how models work... Literally the best kind of character ever to shoot with because he really does "get it" and then when shoots do some together, it's a great massive bucket of awesome! :D Funnily enough, it wasn't the first time we'd met on the shoot itself... On a previous tour of the NorthEast I hopped on Mal's bus when I was heading into the town. We got chatting after he spotted the initial "million bags model giveaway" and literally had a full blown natter as he helped me get my stuff off once in the town centre. The lovely chatter and social rapport then fell into place instantly when the day of our shoot came around, he's a really fun person to work with and we did just as much chin-wagging about all sorts as we did making totally fine photographs!

Mal is a brilliant photographer, we were booked into Loud and Flashy studio which was great because we had the best of both worlds with lush natural light and then flash with the plain backdrops downstairs. Mal totally rocked both completely different environments, with no word of exaggeration! When he so very kindly sent me the edits after the shoot to share about... I was like; Oh my god... how the heck do I decide which to post! Sometimes, if not a lot of the time shots really jump at you but this time there were many glowingly awesome pictures before me and I needed a moment just to think where to begin! X-D Mal has an exceptional artistic eye for both lighting and angles... I'm up and down like a yo-yo at times when I'm posing but you can guarantee that Mal would follow with each pose to smash an angle that gave the shot maximum justice. He does creative compositions like a pro and when that sun was dancing in and out of the clouds, he just made it work for the pictures so effortlessly. The same goes for the studio shots me did... outta this world!

I cannot recommend this gent enough. He's polite, respectful, takes a professional approach an brings awesome ideas/suggestions to the table. He's so upbeat and makes a really friendly and positive shoot environment for everyone too. I really look forward to working with Mal again in the future if he's crazy enough! X-D

My third shoot with Mal whilst on my recent Newcastle 'Mini-Tour'. And following on from previous references I really cannot recommend this photographer enough!! First class communication, a true professional, easy-going and a total joy to work with and we once again worked really well together to produce more amazing images!! What a wonderful first shoot with a very talented and easy to work with guy- Mal was friendly, chatty and put up with my chatting too! He was there on time and had some good locations in mind for our shoot in Newcastle. His comms before hand were great, especially as it was a last minute shoot, and he was clear about what he was looking for which made it really easy for me to prepare costumes. Can't wait to see what the finished product looks like now.

I'd definitely recommend him to other models and look forward to working with him again.

I can only recommend Mal as a photographer.

He ideally recreated my grunge themed idea in the shoot as it was in my dreams. He showed up on time and worked with me and my friend model as a professional. We have got amazing photos with great composition and quality of the photoshop work.

I am pretty pleased with the results and would love to work with Mal in the future.

Mal was professional and lovely from the beginning to end! We shot around 6/7 different looks at Ivy Studios in the centre of Newcastle on the 15th, and i thoroughly enjoyed working with Mal and the banter!

It's obvious Mal has a high skill level and he knows what he's doing, he also gives the perfect amount of direction (little to none) and will tell you if he has an idea and will translate this very well to the model.

We created some excellent images together and i can't wait to see some edits, very much hoping to shoot with Mal again in the near future.

My second shoot with Mal at Loud and Flashy Studio and each shoot just gets better and better!! Just an absolute joy to work with and always great banter but with upmost professionalism too. A true professional, very down to earth and just a lovely person. First class communication and I always feel comfortable and at ease right from the outset of the shoot. Once again we worked well together to produce a great set of images and we covered so many outfits. I saw a glimpse of the images on the back of the camera and they looked amazing so can't wait to see the final edits.

I VERY highly recommend Mal to everyone, a total credit to the industry and can't wait for the next shoot.
