Blog - 

A bit about the lady behind the lens: I have an artistic background, primarily in life drawing/illustration and jewellery design, having studied at Art College, but then detoured for a few decades into a singing career which led to several recording / songwriting projects.

So in recent years having worked my way back to the more visual side of things, I've been honing my skills as a photographer, initially starting out with landscape as my main subject and at some juncture deciding I wanted the landscape to be narrated by a model. And now I'm here! :-)

Vision - 

When it comes to my style I see my photographer tagline as "Portraits with floral, fantasy, cinematic & nature inspired nuances". I have a desire to extend my reach more into strong storytelling narratives and audacious conceptual themes whilst at the same time pinning down the essence of classic beauty portraiture especially with nature / floral inspired overtones and natural light. 

Collaborating / client work - 

My aim on Purpleport is to connect with other creatives, foremost in a collaborative capacity. I also drive and travel extensively around the UK (Wales in particular) and have discovered some stunning 'secret' locations I'm happy to explore with the right model. So please contact me if interested in a Wales adventure! 

I can offer my skills (photographer/ retouching / editing) for any models wishing to expand their portfolio with more fine art / conceptually styled work and will provide my rates on request. :-)

PLEASE READ if considering working with me:

If you contact me to collaborate I will assume it’s on a TF basis as generally I will initiate contact with those models I feel would fit well with a project where I'm prepared to pay.

As I take considerable time editing / retouching to a professional level in Photoshop (often running into a couple of hours per image), I will typically provide 5/6 beautifully edited images for a 2/3 hour TFP shoot, as an example. This doesn't mean to say I won't provide more but generally that is the rule of thumb. 

Similarly if part pay / part TF I would provide 3/4 images. I aim to provide these within a 1-4 week timeframe from the shoot, as I work a full time job and so usually edit on weekends.

And finally (phew!) - My craft is important to me and editing creatively is just part of a larger process involving sourcing gowns, headdresses, props, jewellery, scouting locations, and using expensive camera gear so my resources and time are also 'monetized' (similar to the model's), which is why I feel its important to be clear about what I offer from the get-go when it comes to my 'trade' for yours. :-)
