Reopened by Paol Foto in October 2023,  Liber8 Studio is close to Chorley Lancashire with easy access from M6, M61 and M65 motorways as well as Northern Rail services.

We aim for providing a safe yet fun alternative vibe for all to enjoy, with a strong emphasis on model safety. 

The studio now available for hire by the hour (min 2 hours), half or the full day.  It is suitable for 1:1 or 2:1 photo sessions through model session days, network events and workshops of up to around 12 people. 

The studio retains the 16' wide infinity wall plus has plenty of natural light and other areas where paper rolls, an extensive assortment of microfibre backdrops can be hung from as well as numerous pop up backdrops. The building corridors can also be used (please be respectful of other building users) for great effect. 

The "American Jail" set has now been moved to a different room and is available to hire. 

As of end October'24, we will be in process of moving the "Dungeon" set to another room and starting to build our Christmas sets - please enquire on status of these. 

Standard studio flash equipment available includes - 

6 x 400w Godox flash units with universal Triggers and Receivers

2 x Godox AD400 battery powered flash 1 x Godox AD600 battery powered flash + 2 x AD100 "coke bottle" small flashes +gels that can be positioned in tiny spaces 

1 x 1000w mated to a 180cm Parabolic umbrella (currently in storage, 24 hour notice required if this is needed for a product shoot) 

1 x Fresnel spot (continuous light) 

 1 Neweer Gobo projector + Gobos 

1 x laser projector 

Smoke machines 

4 x 120cm parabolic softboxes

2 x 160cmx 40cm strip lights 

4 x Rotolight AEOS2 Pro 

2 x Rotolight Neo3 Pro 

Numerous  softboxes, reflectors, grids, flags, poly-boards, stands, fabrics, ladders and background stands

There are also many props and items to hand, a small model changing room plus a tea / coffee making station and a side seating area for up to 10 people. 

Current props include bathtub, lots of chairs, 2 x chaisse, picture frames, posing steps and blocks, goth and traditional furniture, cream leather sofa, cage, cross, chain throne, piano and 8'x8'  moveable partition.  A 55" tv screen is also available for workshop training, gallery viewing or tethering.  There are also bubble machines, fog machines and a Smoke Ninja available.  Props are continuously changing and already new sets are in planning / build stage.

We also currently have a small motorbike on loan with others available with advance notice. The studio also has a good selection of quality ballgowns, hats and dresses plus access to in excess of 300 steel boned corsets from it's retail side  

The studio has a selection of Resident Models available who can offer special rates and whom are familiar with the studio layout and equipment.

Rates

Standard studio rate from April 2024 will be - 

 - £20 per hour ( min booking 2 hours)  then £15 for each additional hour up to £80 then it's day rate  (assuming up to a group of 4 people).

New for 2024 

following the successful first twelve months since opening the studio in late 2023, based on popular feedback to expand the events held at the studio I'm always looking for the following - 

 a) models for the Thursday club night shoot (paid, 7pm-10pm) - note the model is welcome to advertise for the 5 hours prior to the club night for paid shoots 

 b) models local to the Preston / Liverpool / Manchester area to build a local pool of models available for photographers 

 c) touring models who wish to hold model days at the studio 

 d) anyone looking to run a workshop or event  

 e) other local studios that may require additional space for their events 

Contact Paol if wanting to hire the venue for a larger group size. 

General 

• No persons under 18 please on the premises - there are simply too many heavy bits of equipment around 
• Wheelchair access is possible 
• Key schemes available providing 24x7 access on request for regular users 
• Free coffee, tea, water, soft drinks and snacks available 
• Communal toilets have been updated in the last year but they retain their industrial revolution heritage...

Club nights every Thursday 7pm - 10pm

 - a fun filled social and networking event usually with a model available to be photographed on the numerous sets whilst enjoying a catchup and banter with other local photographers. The models can bring their own outfits (usually to lingerie) plus are free to wear the many ballgown and corsets the studio has available.  There is not usually a theme to the club nights, but we like to set ourselves shoot ideas suggested by members on the night.  Its a great way to learn lighting and to know your way around the studio.
