I'm an experienced, easy to get on with (or so my references seem to think), self-taught photographer, a staff photographer and writer for Elite Online Magazine, I do some body painting from time to time, and I'm generally a bit of a creative type.
I have plenty of my own ideas but I like to be able to bounce concepts off the person I'm working with and let them bring their ideas to the table as well. I'm a big believer in sharing ideas and inspirations before a shoot, but whilst shooting I'm very laid back and happy to be spontaneous and improvise.
I have a particular interest in capturing images that say something about the person in them, showing emotion and character. I work across all levels as best befits the concept of the shoot, and I prefer to work with natural light where possible, though I do have full studio lighting kit.
I've recently started trying my hand at model videos and would be happy to collaborate with anyone interested in doing something along these lines (look for @laughingorc on vimeo)
My inspirations include the works of Helmut Newton, Haris Nukem, Peter Lindberg, Brandon Jordan and Corwin Prescott as well as the work of artists such as H.R Geiger, Salvador Dali, and Frank Frazetta.
My work has been featured in various publications and websites, and I'm featured in the first episode of Viceland TV's Needles & Pins documentary series.
My work has been featured in publications including:
- Elite Online Magazine
- Twisted Edge Magazine
- Dark Beauty Magazine
- Toxic Online
- Thoughts become things magazine
- SuicideGirls Set of the Day
