References for Jake Hicks Photography

I worked with Jake a few months ago.

What can I say? It was a delight. Pre shoot communication was on point. He was on time to pick me up from train station and was super kind to give me a lift beck ( we literally made a run for the train). Jake is super professional, he made sure I was warm enough and hydrated during the shoot and made sure I feel comfortable along the way.

He is a pro and that shows in everything he does. I was delighted to work with him and the results are just AMAZING. I would totally recommend him

Jake's reputation precedes him to the point that he hardly needs references; but it was such a pleasure to work with him that I felt compelled to do so, even though we worked together over a month ago now. Jake is so easy going and lovely to chat to, and has an impeccable creative eye and talent for a shot. Pre-comms were professional, organised and timely. The shoot itself was very relaxed and yet productive with several looks and sets done in a short amount of time, he gave direction very concisely as his extensive experience means he knows exactly what looks good as well as how to verbalise this. His knowledge of gels meant we could create amazing looking shots in a small space without extensive lighting set ups, and his skill in retouching is unbelievable - I am SO happy with the shots I've received so far. If you ever get an opportunity to work with Jake, I advise that you jump at it! I would be honoured to work with Jake again - thanks so much for such a fab shoot :) X

I've been wanting to work with him for aaaages now and finally got the opportunity. What a absolute legend! His pictures are full of creativity and colour and I cannot wait to see the edits!!!

Jake Hicks really doesn't need a reference from me, but I just have to, I have been to three of his workshops, have both of his video tutorials from RGG- EDU, this guy is absoulutley great at what he does, he explains everything you need to know at the workshop and also shows you everything no holds barred, and if you need any info from that workshop that you were not sure of you can ask him and he will get right back to you, i could go on and on and on, but go on one of his workshops and find out you will not be disappointed, oh and yes i have booked on my forth one on the 22nd September, maybe see you there also

My 4th workshop this year with Jake, so that should tell you something.

With Jakes workshops you 100% get what you pay for, a brilliant well equipped studio with food and drink, A 1st class tutor and education, and a 1st class model.

i can without a doubt say that Jake's workshops have had the single biggest impact on my work (for the better i hope) to just in my post pro and gel lighting but also in my attitude, my attention to detail and my awareness of how the light works and what it is doing even in white light setups.

If you can only do 1 workshop, make it one of Jakes you wont regret it.

I am not sure Jake really needs references these days, I mean if you dont know him by reputation you must be living under a rock somewhere.

Since my last reference I completed the "trifactor" (no medal tho) Adding Colour gel workshop and Colour and exposure to the Post pro course. So many wicked things have been learnt, not just regarding coloured gels but good practice and things i will be taking with me moving forwards.

I feel there has been a noticeable improvement across my photography since the courses and very much enjoyed them. I will be waiting for Jake to introduce another new workshop.

I joined Jake on His Post Production workshop and It was fantastic, I highly recommend Jake's workshops but be prepared to work hard suck in lots of information.

Jake addresses every problem you can think of and some you didnt, will give you some amazing post pro tips that make life so much easier and as well as providing actions shows you what and how the actions are working.

Its all thrown together in a PDF you can take away also which means the bits you inevitably forget on the day are easily accessible for future use.

Just been on Jakes Colour & Exposure lighting workshop. Best workshop I've been on. Got some great images, but more importantly learned how to re create these by myself & some of the theory behind them.

Jake is a clever guy & knows his stuff, but has the ability to teach it so it is (relatively) easy to understand.

If you want to do Gels get yourself on this workshop. Highly recommended.

I've worked with Jake many many times over the last couple of years, I can't recommend him enough! He has such talent that is truly breath taking, he has his own unique style and take to images. As a photographer he has a passion to create images with emotion, in all my years of modelling I have to say he's at the top of my best photographers list! What is also a breath of fresh air is that he teaches other photographers his style and shows them how he works, not scared to give things away & I find that admirable that he enjoys teaching and showing the world his work!

Down to earth, easy going, organised, confident, and well... He makes incredible images!

Jake is an awesomely funny, laid-back and totally cool guy; he knows exactly how to make the most of every hair and make-up look, and the results are astounding. Having Jake's work in my portfolio has certainly taken it to the next level and I can't wait to work with him again. Very highly recommended.

What can I say that hasn't been said about Jake already?

His photography is phenomenal. It's really inspiring to work with someone who isn't afraid to experiment or push the boat out with their work - I was so excited and enthusiastic throughout the whole day getting to see all the different techniques he used. I can honestly say that he nailed every shot and the back of the camera images blew me away.

It also helps that he is a really cool guy, very hospitable and laid back.

I cannot recommend him enough, he is a game changer for anyone's portfolio and I strongly suggest any model to bend over backwards to work with him

I had a shoot with Jake, seems like ages ago now, especially given that we started to arrange the shoot last December!! But Wow, that a delight. Jake is an amazing photographer - The images are incredible, I'm so happy with them and we managed to hit 3 publications with them (thank you Jake)!!

Jake is such a lovely guy, great communication, relaxed atmosphere, really funny and a real talent to boot!

I can't wait to shoot with Jake again - seriously couldn't recommend him highly enough :)

Jake hicks, what a photographer!!!!!

First time working with him a couple of days ago, I saw loads of his work online and have always admired it!

He met me at the station, was a true gentleman and carried my bag, made me a cup of tea when we got to his home studio, was very friendly & interested in my background of modelling (it's so nice as I really think it helps to get an understanding of why & how someone is where they are today)

he was quick with set ups, let me pose freely & directed when lighting set ups were more complex. He complimented me while shooting helping my confidence, had an iPad at side so I could see the shots were Amazingggg! Even if I posed like a mad lady (most of the time) he'd angle me right & light me with such pretty lights it'd just work!

Amen! We need more photographers like this man!

I can say nothing less than shoot with this man given the opportunity. Jake is kind, enthusiastic, calm, technically superb and literally one of thee nicest people to shoot with. He is down to earth, easygoing and thoughtful, in both his mannerisms and photography. Jake's photography style is one in its own, as is the way he dictates his shots, lighting and perspective.

I couldn't recommend him more highly. You'll get something not only completely unique but have a wonderful day doing so.

What can I say really? This guy is wicked, his works so different and unique in such a fantastic way. I had the amazing opportunity to work with Jake yesterday and his works incredible. He's professional, friendly and a laugh to work with! He's brilliantly technical minded when it comes to photography, he knows his stuff!
