I attended an available/natural light course run by Kris and I just cannot recomend it enough.......Not only is it full of advice, techniques, tips and tricks from Kris but also those his wife Jamila has picked up assisting on shoots......The day was very relaxed and a huge amount of fun aided by the absolutly fabulous model Charlottte...I came away keen to try what I had learnt and also an SD card of some fabulous images....I will certainly be attending other courses by Kris, and would highly recomend them to photographers at all levels..... :)

Great workshop. Not shy to share anything and everything he knows. If you want to learn how to shoot in a multitude of natural lighting conditions and get good images this is the workshop to do. Recommended! Also a thank you to Jamila and Charlottte.

I had the pleasure of attending one of the natural light workshops run by Kris earlier today and all I can say is "do it"!

I can promise you that you Will not regret it. He has a great deal of knowledge for one so young.

The reason I didn't ask any questions? He left nothing unanswered! Thanks Kris (& Jamilla & Charlotte)

reference written after attending an 'available light' shoot led by Kris Karl, with the model Charlottte...

I like the photographic style Kris has developed and I also admire his chutzpah: do I mind (at my age) being taught new things about Camera Life by a 25 year-old? - Not a bit! - I can heartily recommend Kris's workshops to other photographers

Something else I like about Kris - he has strong opinions about how models should be treated by photographers and they are good opinions - his wife Jamila is an expert on directing and feathering light from a reflector - I learnt a great deal from her too

Today, I attended the Natural Light Workshop instructed by professional photography Kris Karl. From the very start Kris begins a download to the group that goes beyond just the natural light, but also model direction, location choice, lens types and effects, camera positioning, how best to use a reflector and much, much more. Time flew by as we received an education and deep insight into his techniques and style of photography. You'd do well to attend one of these highly recommended workshops, you'll not be disappointed.

I was wholeheartedly thrilled to have the opportunity of finally working with Kris down in sunny Littlehampton-ville earlier this month.

Kris is a sheer delight to work with. His refreshing respect for models, combined with a seriously down to earth and magnetically bubbly personality, make the perfect cocktail for happy/creative model mode.

The images created where as expected, just delicious and I hugely look forward to working together again.

1000% recommended.

I shot with Kris and his lovely wife Jamila this week and they were very welcoming and friendly! We had a really good laugh and got some great shots. Kris is both talented and professional, but also super funny. He knows what shot he wants and is very efficient, also very quick to get images back to me. I would definitely recommend working with Kris if you get the chance, I hope to shoot with him again in the near future!!

I had a 1-2-1 with kris after attending his natural light workshop last week. kris is a great guy with loads of knowledge he's willing to share, any questions were quickly answered with in depth explanations. kris has a good teaching style and makes sure you understand what he's explaining before moving on. we also did a few hours of photoshop/Lightroom, again kris went into detail on how he edits and different techniques he uses.

had a great day and got some really nice images, I learnt loads that I will be using in the future.

highly recommended.

Today me and Kris hosted our second workshop and as always working with him was an absolute pleasure. He has an eye for natural beauty and a true talent for photography. I feel our shoots get better each time because not only is Kris' work flawless but he brings out the best in me as a model and I am yet to be anything but blown away by his images. We have shot together many times and developed a trust, understanding and a friendship, I would recommend Kris to anyone who is looking to vastly improve their portfolio. Thank you so much x

A big thankyou to Kris for running a very useful and informative "natural light" workshop yesterday as well as thanks to the beautiful model Coco for bravely modelling outside in the rain without complaint. Conditions were far from ideal but probably what you are likely to expect if you want to shoot outdoors in the UK. Despite the rain Kris managed to get through 4 outdoors sets (seafront buildings, wooded area with wild flowers, alleyway and park) and an indoor windowlight set. Kris is obviously passionate about his photography and more than willing to pass on his experience with real examples and tips. I came away a lot more knowledgeable about working with natural light and much better prepared for locations shoots in the future. This was a small group workshop with plenty of time to ask questions, very relaxed and laid back teaching style, I would highly recommend this workshop to others. Thanks also to Jamila for her assistant skills and by keeping us all well supplied with hot drinks. Overall a great day out.

I met Kris for the first time this weekend, having followed and admired his work for some time, and was lucky enough to make a full weekend on the south coast with Kris's Natural Light workshop on the Sunday, and some 1-2-1 tuition with him the day before.

Kris may only be 25 but he certainly knows his stuff, and is very happy to share his knowledge to help other photographers develop their skills. He has a great enthusiasm and rapport with the models, and a keen eye for making the most of any location and lighting condition. He also has an excellent teaching style, making the day both informative and fun.

I highly recommend Kris's Natural light photography workshops and 1-2-1 tuition.

Thanks also to Kris's lovely assistant Jamila for her precision with the reflector, and the constant flow of tea and snacks..

Attended Kris' second natural light workshop over the weekend and came away with my view on photography and post processing altered for the better.

You don't need me to tell you how good a photographer he is, but his teaching style is just as good.

I can't recommend his workshop (or himself) highly enough!

I was really chuffed to finally meet and work with Kris. :)

He is a friendly guy, brill photographer and a great laugh. It felt like I knew him for years! I was completely at ease modelling for him.

Pre communications were spot on. Kris was imaginative with his ideas for our shoot. He even got Darryl (his assistant for the day) involved by throwing blossom and twigs about, haha! He also took my ideas into consideration. :)

The weather was on our side, and we got some amazing images from the shoot.

When needed Kris would give me direction, whilst also letting me model independently.

Overall, I had a blast working with Kris and totally recommend him!

I attended a workshop that Kris arranged on Saturday after being inspired by his photographs.

Kris is knowledgeable and enthusiastic and kept the group engaged during the day with the help of Coco.

I have picked up a number of excellent tips that will help to improve my photography.

The day was very special and i would happily recommend Kris to anyone considering attending any future workshop.

I went to Kris and Coco's workshop in Littlehampton yesterday.

First of all, Kris is in a really convenient location for shooting; quiet beachfront is seconds away, overgrown outdoors minutes away, parkland, plenty of alleyways and interesting backdrops, a great place to do a workshop.

Kris' approach was informal and relaxed, while being really informative, genuinely helpful and keen to see attendees getting results. He was organised, confident and as keen as any of the attendees and it made a massive difference.

The workshop content was varied and engaging. 5 hours worth, but it nothing felt drawn-out, there was a lot packed in.

There were a few challenges Kris set out at the end which were a lot of fun, ending the day on a high note.

I really enjoyed it, and I think it was more than good value. Heartily recommended.

Had a great workshop with Kris today. He gave excellent tuition throughout and I came away feeling I had learnt a great deal. Easy to get along with and very knowledgably. I have many new ideas to use for future shoots and I would highly recommend booking one or more of Kris's workshops, you won't be sorry.

I also attended the workshop on Saturday run by Kris aided by the irrepressible Coco and the lovely Jamila.

The day flew past with lots of information and tips delivered in a concise and entertaining manner.

I thoroughly recommend these courses and hope there are others to attend in the future.
