MYSELF

Older male photographer, hobbyist, retired from professional job in public body. Sense of humour. Chatty, friendly, considerate, and enjoy banter. Long experience with photography generally and for day job. Photography of models much more recent. I travel light for photography, keeping things simple and using relatively modest equipment. Most of my previous experience with models has been in outdoor locations, or well-lit interiors. Have recently started doing studio work.

STYLES AND GENRES

My general style (female models) might be called 'alternative erotic'. Mostly NSFW, some SFW. I also do occasional 'street' shots and permitted photos of strangers when opportunities allow. 

I like to create contrast, humour, irony, creepiness, mystery or surreal-ness with models in locations like ruins, back-yards, urbex/rurex, old machinery, industrial settings, sheds, scruffy places, railways, woodland, dramatic landscapes, rocks and cliffs, unusual buildings and interesting interiors. If you are a model reading this and interested in creating  such images, please get in touch.

I realise that good outdoor localities may a bit public at times (dog-walkers ahoy!) and may require some suitable timing and some walking to reach them and find suitable spots, but I don't ask models to do anything risky or difficult and of course they should say if they are not happy about anything.

SOME INFLUENCES

I particularly like 'vintage British fetish' (e.g. https://vintagefetish.website) which is generally monochrome, but I also take it further by using colour and more nudity. Ditto classic American pin-up work (e.g. Gil Elvgren: http://www.thepinupfiles.com/elvgren1.html).

Other influences include the photography of Cari Ann Wayman aka yyellowbird (https://www.flickr.com/photos/yyellowbird/ ) and also painters like Hopper, Schiele and Modigliani.

CURRENT THEMES in no particular order:-

1. Skirt-Hiking - erotic take on country walking, e.g. in hiking gear but wearing a skirt or dress, subject to weather etc.
2. Erotic take on Derbyshire landscape using historical, archaeological, rocky, scenic and industrial locations (former or modern).
3. 'American Dream Subverted' - not-so-demure renderings of American-Dream pin-ups (e.g. 1950s, see Gil Elvgren, above) using urbex/rurex and industrial locations.
4. 'British Vintage Fetish Revisited' - inspiration from British men's mags of the 1950s (approx) and similar (e.g. https://vintagefetish.website).

I can combine these styles and themes in various ways for a shoot.

ARRANGEMENTS AND CONDITIONS

- Many models (and others) here state their own numerous strict conditions about arrangements. But as a photographer, I have some myself -

1. Please reply when I've asked about a possible shoot. If you can't do a shoot, or don't want to, please just say, rather than leaving enquiries or threads in mid-air. I won't take offence. Basic courtesy, please.
2. Please make clear what advance notice you require before you impose a charge for a cancellation. If a postponement or re-scheduled shoot is acceptable, I can offer this.
3. I post (publish in this sense) my photos on the three websites above which are all free-to-view publicly. I currently have no 'in private' photos on these sites, and I haven't so far had occasion to publish my model photography on pay-to-view sites or tried to publish them in print form. Please let me know if any of this does not suit you and we can discuss.

- While I like the option to go to OL levels, I respect a model's preferred levels and their safety and will do my best to help create as relaxed an atmosphere as possible for a creative shoot.

- I like to suggest to a model what I'd like to do for a shoot beforehand, including outfit suggestions, but I'm flexible and always ask a model to put up ideas of their own that they want to try, and make the shoot a joint fun effort.

- I am flexible but in general I prefer natural looks to body enhancements. I'm not keen on lots of big loud tattoos, or numerous piercings.

- I prefer to work in the Derbyshire / Peak District area, or around London and the South-East. I can also travel from these areas for a reasonable day-return trip, preferably by public transport. I will pay more-or-less standard rates and travel expenses etc. I cannot shoot from home but I know several studios.

- I offer my unedited originals of a shoot to a model I've worked  with, subject to discussed terms and conditions about how the model intends to use them. I do various amounts of post-shoot editing of photos I want to post, and so I then also send these edited versions of photos to a model for their approval before I post them. Copyright is my own unless otherwise negotiated.
