Hello all,

Photography has been something of an on/off hobby of mine since teenage years when I used to take the camera out with me when doing other hobbies such as hillwalking but then long periods of time when I didn't pick up a camera and even sold all of my kit at one point. Then smartphones came along and I started to get the bug for photography again and as luck would have it one of my colleagues was selling their camera and a kit lens as a result of an upgrade. That was in the spring of 2018 and this time the bug really bit me and has taken hold.

I am primarily a landscape photographer which sits nicely with my other interests of hillwalking and cycling as I can take my kit out into some of the lovely mountain areas that the UK has to offer with the longer term aim of exploring some of the major European mountain ranges. Macro photography, particularly of flowers, is another area that holds a lot of interest and I dabble in some nature photography here and there although my patience to sit and wait for the perfect example of animal behaviour often lets me down here.

I have always been somewhat fascinated by people photography in all its forms but have never felt I've been any good at it. The prompt to get better was a final assignment stage of an online photography course which I am happy to say that I passed using two images from my first shoot. I loved that shoot and have somewhat been bitten by the bug as the number of shoots over the late summer months shows. Feeling comfortable and competent with natural light photography but not with artificial light so that it something to continue learning. 

I see the shoots that I do with models as being a creative partnership so am always very happy to take suggestions and ideas from models before or during the shoot and I will always try to share images after the shoot irrespective of it being a paid shoot.

Shoot ideas that are currently running through my head include an outdoor shoot in the mountains/hills with appropriate outdoor gear, mountain biker/road cyclist but off the bike or on an indoor bike. Based in Perth, Scotland at the moment and will be in Scotland for a while but will be visiting my former haunts in Portsmouth a few times I've no doubt. I'm also happy to travel as well.
