I wanted to leave a review for Katy. Today we had a shoot lined up but due to a car issue I couldn't make it. My fault. Throughout us making arrangements for this shoot Katy has been concise and professional. I absolutely look forward to arranging another shoot with her.

Katy is absolutely lovely. A natural beauty, instead and out.

After a couple of weeks of sorting out my schedule I finally got to work with her! She is warm and friendly with a great personality, brought a number of outfits for the theme we agreed on and easily got into the swing of posing without direction.

Whether new or experienced at some point, this girl is a must to work with :)

I was already a big fan of Katie's images so jumped at the chance of working with her.

Although Katie states on her profile that she is new to modelling it doesn't show at all. She has a very natural beauty (I'd love to do a summer boho style shoot with her) and a relaxed personality making the whole shoot an absolute joy.

Instead of rattling out superlatives about how fab Katie is I will finish with this testament: I was seriously considering packing up photographing models to concentrate on my band photography but having enjoyed the shoot and loving our photos so much I'll be sticking around and finally renewing my PP account!

Yep, this is how much I enjoyed working with Katy last Friday... we shot together again last night. I've wanted to do a town centre night time shoot for some time, and with Katy living so close to me I thought I'd broach the subject. Katy replied within seconds to say yes, a perfect example of her enthusiasm.

I had explained to Katy in advance that it was an experimental/learning shoot for me, and that the images may not be as good as the ones from our previous shoot, and this didn't bother her at all. And so we found ourselves wandering the main streets of Reading town centre, looking for window light, neon lights, etc. Reading isn't exactly London, and neon was particularly noticeable by its absence, but this didn't really matter as Katy is such good company, is so easy to talk to, and was so positive about a lot of the images we did capture when I showed her them on the camera.

I've already booked Katy in for two more shoots, and I'd book more in if I wasn't so busy at the moment. I have a feeling though that once the spring/summer arrives and the days are longer we could be shooting together a fair amount in the evenings - it's so great to have an enthusiastic, beautiful model who lives to close! Thank you Katy for being so willing to experiment with me.

Well that was a fun and rather spontaneous afternoon shooting!

Katy only joined PurplePort yesterday, and contacted me as I'm fairly local to her to ask if I wanted to collaborate with her. My reply was a resounding yes please, but I was worried that I have become somewhat booked up for most of the next month and might not be able to fit in a shoot with her particularly soon. Low and behold, it snows overnight, the school where I teach is closed for the day, and Katy just happens to be free as well. So in the space of a few hours we have agreed to shoot, sorted a location, discussed outfits and we are standing in the cold, meeting each other for the first time.

And I could not have asked for a better shoot! Katy is an absolute natural in front of the camera. So much so that I felt the need to question her assertion that she has never modelled before, on a number of occasions during the shoot. She poses incredibly well for a beginner, and takes direction very well too. She has a sparkling personality and conversation ran very freely, and our two hours flew by.... and there was me wrapped up nice and warm whilst Katy suffered in the cold. Sorry Katy!

I have a small list of models that I would happily work with again and again, and Katy has leapt right onto that list, and the fact that she is local to me makes this even better! We are already talking about our second and third and probably fourth shoots together, so expect to see a lot of Katy in my portfolio from now on. Totally recommended, as long as it doesn't mean I get to work with her less often!
