After her theater career, Kaat continues to create small performances, referring to her images as "little stories." To craft these unique artworks, she collects various elements by building small sets and photographing the individual components. She then assembles everything and adds digital drawings as needed, recoloring every detail meticulously. By combining photography and digital painting, Kaat transforms her stories into artworks that showcase both craftsmanship and deep cultural awareness.

Kaat Stieber works from her studio in Rotterdam, where she has created ideal lighting conditions to emulate the famous light of the old masters. This light is essential in her work to capture the atmosphere and depth characteristic of both her surrealistic and Renaissance styles. In her studio, she carefully constructs the sets and compositions that form the foundation of her art, bringing each image to life by integrating her knowledge of theater, costume design, and photography.
