Wonderful shoot experience with Jan, whilst I was touring Amsterdam. The communication was on point, we planned the shoot out well. It was an added bonus that Jan has a great collection of props for models to use. He gave great direction & shared the images as he worked through the shoot, that was really helpful.

He was an expert with the lighting, & we created some beautiful final shots that I was more than pleased with. Final edits were shared with me in good time.

I highly recommend Jan, he’s an absolute gentleman and a talented photographer.

I had an absolutely wonderful shoot experience with Jan at his studio in Utrecht! This was our second shoot and this time we had two more photographers joining us, from the start Jan’s enthusiasm and positivity shone through, making the entire shoot a joy. His direction and guidance were spot-on, helping me feel at ease and confident throughout the shoot.

Jan’s professionalism and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the shoot. He made sure other photographers are getting best shots possible and his vision allowed me to fully express myself as a model.

Beyond his photography skills, Jan’s warm and friendly demeanour created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere during the shoot.

Had my first shoot with Jan yesterday in his studio in Utrecht and it was amazing, his pre shoot communication was excellent , gave me a detailed direction of how to get to the location. He had some fantastic ideas, during the shoot he made me feel completely at ease and is such a lovely person to talk to and work with, I absolutely love the images that we created.

He was very patient and kind and taught me everything a beginning model needs to know. Very considerate and made sure I felt comfortable. An absolute artist with lots of nice clothes and props.

I had a wonderful session with Jan. It is clearly very important for him that the model is comfortable. Despite me being a bit late - he reassured me it was okay and even made sure I sat down and had a cup of tea before we started. Despite English being his second language, we had wonderful conversations about biology, photography, and art in general between sets. We were quite productive - focussing on portraits but paying attention to colour selection and compositions. I think we made some beautiful images, and I would love to shoot with him again some time - the experience was wonderful!

I was taking a trip to Amsterdam and I reached out to Jan to see if he would be interested in shooting with me whilst I was away - I was so happy when he responded and we arranged a shoot at his studio it Utrecht.

Pre comms with Jan were great - He gave me all the information I needed for the shoot and easy directions to the studio. He met myself and my fiance Simon and even brought us Apple Strudel from his recent birthday celebration!! Spoilt or what!!!

Jan is absolutely wonderful - He is kind, welcoming, easy to talk to and very creative!! Not only that - He also knows exactly how to light an image to perfection, and spends time making sure he gets it right (much appreciated!!). He has numerous outfits, jewellery and all sorts of other props to use during the shoot which was great!!

Jan even got my fiancée Simon involved with one of the shots!! And the image has turned out great!!

All in all I would highly recommend Jan and would happily shoot with him again!! Thank you so much Jan! A pleasure to meet you!!

Another fab shoot with Jan and this time he was joined by his lovely friend Ries.

I have had the pleasure of working with Jan on a couple of occasions now and each time we have come away with a beautiful array of images from classical portraiture to art nude and fashion.

We shot at Jan's new studio and similar to before, Jan continues to have a bigger collection of jewellery than any model I know and his wardrobe.... well I am envious, he has so many beautiful things to shoot with.

It was lovely to work with Ries too, they get along well and compliment each others shooting styles whilst also capturing something different. Ries brought along some items to shoot with too, my favourite being a green jacket! We got so many stunning shots!

Thank you both for booking with me and I hope we can shoot again on my next tour :)

Hi had a lovely shoot with Jan at his studio. He had a variety of clothes to wear and made my feel very comfortable. I could tell just by the little things that he is very experienced working with models. I loved his shadow and low key shooting style and I felt like he really wanted to make me look beautiful in the pictures. He was extremely attentive and has a good sense of humour which I also enjoyed during the shoot.

I would definitely like to return and shoot with him again!

I shot with jan today in his studio in Utrecht. I’ve lost count of how many times we have shot. Apologies for not leaving references before.

We’ve shot on location. In windmills. Train tracks. His previous studio his current studio. I was pleased to be able to shoot with jan again as it’s been a while since we have caught up

He’s such a kind pure hearted soul. I’ve known him for around a decade and can certainly say I trust him whole heartedly. You’re in safe hands with jan. He’s passionate about photography. He had his own style and together we make an award winning team can’t really beat that :-)

I love to work with him. Our shoot was relaxed but productive. The time flew by we got so many epic pics. He had a beautiful brain and a kind soul

If you’re ever in Holland and get the chance to shoot with jan I would highly recommend doing so. You will get great images for your portfolio and have a lovely time doing so

I had a lovely shoot with John on my trip to the Netherlands. The communication before the shooting was great.

He makes me feel comfortable and safe, and this as a new model is really important. He really knows how to use lights, and he also has a lot of ideas and outfits to use! It was really fun and nice to work with him!

I came into contact with John through MichaelG5. John is a super professional photographer. In 2018 I had the first shoot with him and it was a fantastic shoot. His studio is very beautiful, lots of clothes, jewelry and other creative things. He is very nice, friendly, reliable and his photos are of very high quality. I've worked with him a few times so far. And it will never be the last time. He always has great creative ideas and is always looking for new models. Even if you have no experience yet, he will give you plenty of directions. Would you like to work with an experienced photographer like John Herm? I will advise him, especially if you want beautiful photos for a good portfolio. He has worked with many professional models. He can give you a lot of clues with posing if you don't have much experience yet.

Jan is one of the nicest persons I have met at work. We connected very well during the shoot, there was a good vibe, easy going mood and a very good communication!

He is an excellent professional, this can be seen in his works, awards and publications, and he has a remarkable humility.

John is such a charming person that I adore since we have met each other.

We had an nice pre-shoot communication, he was vigilant when making arrangements and with organising a collaboration with his partners.

During the shooting he was constantly taking care of the model to feel comfortable (he has a nice spacy photo studio full of garments and props, like a tiny museum) and he was making sure that I have no chance to get frozen there.

The shooting process was smooth and in a very fun atmosphere.

We did create some really great shots!

John was friendly and it was literally a delight to work with him.

I would love to have a chance to work with you once again and without any doubt do recommend working with you to any other model.
