My name is James Cumberpatch, I am a 36 year old IT Engineer.  I am passionate about photography and have mostly been the occasional photographer at a personal level.  Over the last few months I have started to take my photography seriously and I am hoping this becomes my second job for weeknight and weekend work in the near future.

 

I am interested in most aspects of photography and would like to have a go at all of them.  Photography that inspires me the most are Sports, Motorsports, Portraits, Landscapes and Music based photography (live bands etc.)

 

I wouldn't class myself as a beginner but at the same time I'm not a professional either.  I have studied books and magazines regarding differences in techniques and camera settings for different types of shots and different types of scenery/lighting environments as well as talking to other professional photographers but I need to start putting these into practice and there is only so much you can do from your own living room or back garden.

 

I have a variety of equipment mostly Nikon based including a Nikon D7000 camera as well as an SB700 Speedlight and my main two lenses are a 17-50mm F2.8  lens and a 70-200mm F2.8 telephoto lens both of these are great for many types of photography.

 

As the cost of photography is not the cheapest I do not have my own studio/lighting equipment as of yet but will be looking into this as soon possible as the initial costs of the camera and lenses etc. are expensive and I am having to build my equipment collection bit by bit.
