Lake Lucerne from Mt Pilatus Switzerland
Added 1677309662 by jcqsmer.
Pilatus was named after a local legend that alleges that Pontius Pilate was buried there. From the summit, there are spectacular views of the Alps with 73 peaks and 6 lakes. In this photo, neither Lake Lucerne below nor the city of Lucerne is visible due to the cloud cover. The summit is reached from Alpnachstad, the bottom station of the Pilatus Railway, the world’s steepest cogwheel railway.
This photo was taken with a non-digital Zeiss camera from near the top of Mt Pilatus.
