I'm a photographer based in Cardiff who specializes in 19th Century print making techniques, including wet plate collodion. A process in which a glass plate is poured with collodion (a syrup of nitrocellulose, ether, alcohol, ammonium iodide and cadmium bromide) sensitized in a bath of silver nitrate and then exposed in-camera and processed on-site within 10 minutes using an iron developer and later fixed. The resulting image is a unique positive image captured on black glass. The entire process must be completed before the glass plate dries hence the name 'wet plate'. Which calls for the photographer to carry with him not only a camera but also his entire darkroom and chemistry! I currently use a hydroponics tent as a mobile darkroom. There's great talent and inspiration on this site and would love to collaborate to make some striking images!
