I was really pleased to heat Jamila had booked onto my studio day at Scarlet door recently, I had seen her portfolio and images a number of times and always thought how beautiful her images are! Safe to say, she didn't disappoint! A lovely person, really easy to get on with and is very considerate! Each set seemed to get better and better and I was really excited to see the back of camera each time!

Jamila came prepared with loads of ideas and I think we nailed each one!

I only got to shoot with Jamila for a couple of hours but loved the shots we got, using both natural and studio lights the results were fab!

I arrived with a variety of clothes and Jamila was very quick to know what she wanted to shoot and I thought it was great she had a clear idea in mind!

This is a very belated reference for a shoot a few months back with Jamila at her home studio as well as recommendation for the times I have shot with Jamila at the Kris Karl Photography workshops at the Scarlet Door in Bracknell.

Jamila has her own particular style and lighting, her husband often uses this "Jamila's lighting" at his own workshops because it's so beautiful and flattering to the models she works with as can be seen in her extensive portfolio. I was very lucky to work with Jamila very early on in my Modelling career. She provided me with a host of edits to use, and I've integrated almost every single one into my portfolios. They are by far some of the best images ever taken of me. I have continued to use these edits to promote myself and my work throughout my time as a model, I can utterly and truly say she's one of my personal favourites. She's the most efficient photographer I've worked with, knowing what she wants from a shoot and when she has it.

Whenever I look at those results I marvel at the way she has used light and shade, she totally knows how to craft the relationship between the two to gain the perfect beauty image.

Her workshop attitude is forthright and efficient, she knows how to get the best from the setups and the respective model. She knows what clothing would suit best and can give excellent advice on technical, fashion, makeup and flattering patterns. She has helped me in so many ways and I would like to thank her and apologise for this terribly late reference.

I feel this goes without saying but I cannot recommend her and her work highly enough.

I got the chance to work with Jamila the other day, and it was fantastic.

Firstly, Jamila is a really nice person, we chatted for ages throughout the shoot which was not only fun but made me feel really comfortable.

Jamila is very talented, her attention to detail showed in her lighting set ups and her informing me of the way our shots were working.

We created some beautiful, soft natural shots both in the studio and outside as well, Jamila was a pleasure to work with, I would highly recommend her, I hope we get to do it again soon!

I worked with Jamila for the first time last week. She was kind enough to pick me and the model up from the station (and dropped us back) and provided us with tea and coffee throughout the shoot. Jamila gave me great feedback on the makeup and let me look at the images as we were shooting to see how the makeup was coming through on camera.

She was an absolute pleasure to work with. The shoot was very relaxed and we all laughed a lot!

I can't wait to see the images and I hope to work with her again! She's very talented!

It was awesome working Jamila, she was so easy to get along with from the get go, friendly, chatty, professional and chatty. Pre coms we're amazing! Jamila suggested working with kris Karl too which was great to get a variation of images. She very kindly picked me up from the station and dropped us back, there was also a lovely cuppa involved. Jamila told me at the beginning of the shoot that she purely wanted to achieve black and white images for her portfolio so i knew what sort of breif to work towards in regards to makeup styles and posing working with the light.

Before the shoot I was sent a mood board of images to understand the feel of the shoot and what kind of atmosphere she wanted the images to have, I feel she stuck to her brief 100% and was very friendly whilst shooting giving positive reinforcement on posing and facial expressions, she also gave easy to follow direction to adapt with the lighting set up. The images I have seen have come out exactly as planned and I would recommend her photography especially to those wishing to work black and white.
