Hello and welcome to the PurplePort for James Scanlan Photography

Photography and Videography is my passion and my full-time job. I specialise in portraiture and music with my photography but can also offer Videography with my business; Shoot the Noise which focusses on the music and TV/Film industry.

Shoots are always respectful and I like to place the models in the driving seat and allow them to show their visions and comfortability, of course there's always some backseat driving to help capture the best image available in front of us. Direction has come from years of experience but lines are never crossed. Models are not a wax figurine to be made into whatever a photographer wants. Discomfort doesn't make a good shot.

All shoots require a 50% deposit, the other 50% on completion of the editing. (A contract will be signed by both parties).

I am open to do any type of shoot to help you capture exactly what you are looking for, I always like to suggest a Pinterest board be created before the shoot so we can both get a feel for what we would like the final product to be.

I also recommend every model come with another body just as a witness, this also helps confidence and comfortability.
