For the forth arc of the comic series, Detective Stories, the first issue’s covers were all homages to modern police TV shows or movies.
I assume that the buying demographic of the comics skews younger than the books, hence their ‘modern’ selection of cover subjects, which got me thinking… What if it was a homage to an older cop show, one that an older age group would be familiar with.
The Isaacs I mused and it was there, the idea fully formed (which is unusual), it had to be Regan & Carter.
I spend much longer on this than I really should have but I give you Grant & Nightingale, in a faux DVD box art homage to my favourite cop show of the 70’s, The Sweeney.
