Style

My personal style for fashion/glamour work tends to be quite dark, contrasty images with bold colour injections and solid poses. I enjoy playing with light and shadow and therefore my images often contain reflections, shiny surfaces, latex, leather and lingerie. I also have an interest in physique and fitness photography.

These are my preferred styles however, as a commercial photographer I am very adaptable to a client's brief. Therefore I can accommodate any preferred styles/themes you may have in mind. Get in touch if you have anything you'd like to discuss.

Shoots

With a decade of experience in photographing models and celebrities for advertising and editorial images, I have developed an understanding of what is desired by agencies, editors and publication houses. A shoot with me will be specifically aimed at creating photographs that include a variety of images – be it commercial, fashion or glamour – to best represent your unique style. I can create a diverse selection for new models who do not currently have a portfolio or enhance a collection for established models who need an updated set of high-end images.

All shoots booked through PurplePort include:

• A selection of fully edited, retouched images delivered within two working days
• A model profile page on my website which can include a bio and social links to your sites
• Secure client login area to download your photographs
• Social media re-use licence for all delivered images
• Dedicated shop to purchase prints direct from your gallery

As an example - from a two-hour shoot I would expect to deliver no fewer than 20 final images

About me

In the past decade, I have mainly worked as a press and editorial photographer for newspapers and media agencies across the country. The bulk of my work was with an agency shooting for national newspapers and magazines as well as corporate work for businesses across the UK. 

In 2017 I set up my own studio but unfortunately due to the recent troubles with Corona I was forced to close and so now I’ve gone back to working on a self-employed basis. My day to day life is spent shooting commercial photography for businesses predominantly based in the southwest in disciplines such as portraiture, fashion, interiors, PR and product photography.

The boring but important stuff

If you apply to one of my castings please read the payment details first. 

Photography is my career and my only form of income. In the same way that models don’t think they should work for free neither do I. However many of us are here because we love creating new images. So, while I may be happy on occasion to pay for the right model for a particular project most of my castings will be for TF only. Should I offer to pay for a particular project, I won’t be paying vastly overpriced rates compared to what a client would pay for commercial models with national agencies. 

Regardless of whether the shoot is paid or TF I require a signed model release for a shoot to commence. I do this for a living and as boring as all the formal stuff is, it’s more essential in this day and age than it ever was before.

While I’m happy to shoot content for PPV sites, if you’re earning money from my images then a commercial usage licence is required and will be invoiced accordingly. 

To keep my fashion/glamour work separate from my corporate work, any images shot will be shared through the @hewlettpix social media streams and via the website.
