I love working and collaborating with people in an outdoor location in natural light with its resultant pools of accidental shadows and light. The model should preferably be natural, with little or no makeup, style focused, with changes of wardrobe and props that will enhance the concept, look or story we are working to achieve during the photo shoot.
My preferred photo shoot types are portraits and headshots, urban and street, beach, fitness, sport, fashion and the occasional lingerie and art nude.
I work in colour but render a fair proportion of the images to monochrome. For the record my portrait, headshots and fashion photography is influenced by the Australian art /fashion photographer Peter Coulson. My urban /street photography, on the other hand, is informed and shaped by the work of a dear friend, an oldie and a goldie and yet another great Australian photographer, Merv Fitzhenry.
Originally, I’m from the South Coast of NSW but have lived in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. Since early 2020 I’ve been based on the Gold Coast and will be for the foreseeable future.
My standard rate for a straightforward shoot in and around locations on the Gold Coast is a very reasonable $90 per hour and which includes three to seven edited images chosen by you the client during the shoot. If you are a student or in casual work, my fee is free or a donation, whatever you consider to be fair. And, it too will include up to seven edited images chosen by you at the end of the photoshoot session. I will consider TPF shoots if the model and concept interest me and especially if it is to help kick-start promising new talent. PLEASE NOTE: The $90 per hour rate is for personal and /or portfolio work only.
