Gilleban

Rather than my real name most folks know me as "Gilleban," a name I picked up while part of an Irish/Scottish re-enactment clan and stuck as I developed a reputation for making chainmail.  I began studying jewelry fabrication and design at Fullerton Community College, teaching myself how to link jump-rings together in a way that formed a "fabric," crafting it into my first maille shirt for live steel combat.  Soon a friend wanted a shirt, then another...then an exotic dancer friend wanted something a little more "interesting"...before I knew it my "hobby" included armor and "metal lingerie."  Twenty-two years later I'm still at it, and have expanded into scale-mail as well as making any leather components an outfit might require, and have several feature films under my belt.  These says I'm out of historic re-enacting but still make fantasy armor for LARP and photo shoots, and have expanded into southern California's post-apocalyptic "Wasteland" scene.

Please understand that I am a professional artisan, taking commissions to augment my income...as covering materials out of my own pocket can be debilitating if a project gets cancelled, please know that I typically request a down-payment before  taking on major projects, especially those that require particularly expensive components.
