I am Ian Gilchrist and I've over thirty years experience as a photographer. Amateur and professional.
I ran a general practice with a town centre studio, doing the usual wedding and portraiture work and commercial commissions. 
I have experience with runways, models in exhibition work and in a wide variety of promotions. Inevitably that often led to portfolio shoots for the models.
Now retired, I have equipped a studio and am working again with my wife who acts as studio assistant and second photographer.  Together we are Gilchrist Photo

With the exception of occasional commissions, I am pursuing personal projects blissfully free of the demands of would-be art directors and over-zealous clients. 

I am particularly, but not exclusively, interested in the fine art nude and environmental portraiture.
I am also happy to take on more mainstream work including fashion and beauty because I enjoy the process of working with model, make-up and hair stylist to get the right image.
Sadly, no commercial budget on my personal projects means little money to pay expenses, so much of what I do will have to be time for prints/CD.
I am particularly interested in forming an ongoing working relationship with hair and make-up stylists in the Barnsley area, as well as models, who want to develop their portfolios over time.
