This was my second time working with Franco in very quick succession. The first time we worked 1-2-1 and today we split the shoot time with Mike Rhys.

Despite me not being able to understand German we manage to speak a mix of German, Italian and English to get by and communicate with each other.

Franco is very directive, he likes to tell a story and create emotive images. He is always very creative, enthusiastic and sensitive to the models needs. He is always prepared with many ideas, costumes and props.

We already have a third shoot planned for the new year which I am looking forward to. Super professional and easy to work with. Many thanks, recommended.

He's simply delightful to shoot with, enthusiastic, full of fun ideas and storytelling images. He actively encourages my silly expressions and over the top acting and I love every minute of it.

I have now worked with the lovely Franco on multiple occasions when I have made working visits to Germany either on tour or specially organised via studio host Mike Rhys who runs Fotoworkshop studio in Hamburg; from where we usually shoot from. Each shoot has always promised something different and creatively thought-out since Franco puts an exceptional amount of effort into planning and styling his shoots. It’s always fun to see what we might be shooting next. :D

The most recent occasion/shoot session was organised for part of a longer tour I was doing of Germany. Part of which involved the beautiful city of Hamburg once again - of course I was very excited to hear that Franco and I would be working together again because it is always nice when you get to work with people you know due to knowing how the other works/their style and being able to bounce off each other and have a laugh in the process. :) Once more: Franco had a whole range of innovative concepts planned out in stills and video - from very simple material to super ambitiously artistic. Franco has always pushed himself on an artistic level to produce something different though which does make working with him very inspiring from a models point of view. :) He takes on all kinds of challenges photographically, as well as with planned looks. He doesn’t mind taking his time on a concept to ensure that it’s perfect since he has superb attention to detail and would rather the look was right than shoot away regardless. It’s also quite phenomenal how he is able to switch from video to stills (technically and visually) instantly letting the visions flow from his head and always communicating with the model as to what he is trying to achieve. He respects the input that a model brings to the shoot and was open to me flowing through my repertoire on occasions when it suited, but he also has a very clear goal picture of what he is trying to achieve and is extremely driven and enthusiastic about his work. The time has always gone so quickly when we have worked together because of being on a productive roll with the matierial and his work looks fabulous in the back of the camera/video camera, even before he has moved on to the processing stages of his work! A photographer and artist with an unquestionable eye for the moment and huge levels of passion/motivation to get the best results possible. :)

We have typically worked together for full days and even then, you seem to blink and the time has passed! We had a nice lunch in-between and plenty of opportunities for tea/coffee... In fact the whole atmosphere was lovely as usual and Franco respected if ever a break was needed - we also did some rope work which can sometimes warrant adjusting the rope loose and taking a rest for a moment and courtesy was always shown in these situation. It can sometimes be tricky with the language barrier (Mike is normally on-hand to translate) but Franco makes his best efforts to keep the model informed with what he plans to capture for each set, wanting to ensure that the model is completely comfortable and happy with the context and ideas. In addition to everything else: it’s routinely an enjoyable day with lots of chatter/banter and giggles. Franco arrives cheery as ever to every shoot and is super friendly by nature which does increase the positive feeling on the shoot as a whole. :)

Was kann ich über Franco sagen? Er ist einfach eine wundervolle Person und obwohl sein Englisch sehr begrenzt ist, ist es durch seine Mimik und sein Auftreten aus Posen und Anweisungen klar, was er von den Dreharbeiten will.

Ich habe es geliebt, mit ihm zu arbeiten, seine Begeisterung und Tanzbewegungen sind ansteckend!

Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, im Winter wieder mit ihm zusammenzuarbeiten!

Well, what can I say about Franco? He is just a wonderful person and though his English is very limited, through his expressions and acting out of poses and instructions, it’s very clear what he wants from the shoot.

I loved working with him, his enthusiasm and dance moves are infectious!

I really look forward to working with him again in Winter!

It was my first time working with Franco at Mike rhys studio in Hamburg. Although my German language skills are non existent and franco spoke some English but not much, he was great at directing me and letting me know what he wanted from a shot. We had lots of laughs together and I really enjoyed meeting him and working with him. I hope we get to work together again and I would recommend him.
