I shot with John whilst in Dundee on my recent Scotland tour, he came prepared and with lots of ideas to boot....

He is a very relaxed and fun photographer who is knowledgeable about photography & the best use of natural/studio light - the available rooms were wonderfully captured, he directs beautifully and he set up the most flattering of angles, framing in the best way!

I can't recommend John enough, he is a joy to work with and is a most professional & creative photographer, who I hope to work with again :)

I was lucky enough to attend a workshop ran by John back in late 2015.

Not only, did John provide a well paced, informative day, but his guidance and expertise was freely shared among us all.

On top of that, I would add that it is evident that John has a passion and respect for working the art nude genre and was a huge ambassador for the models he had worked with and will continue to work with.

He was generous with his knowledge sharing and even gave us some editing tips and advice.

Since the workshop, John has always been available for advice or critique and is so encouraging and supportive and embracing of his art, that I feel privileged to have worked with him and look forward to doing so again in the future.

I can't remember how many times I have worked with John now but each time it has been rather super duper!! :)

John is a lovely down to earth guy and always looks after the model well. I shot with John just last week again during a workshop he ran while I was on tour- it all went very well and I really enjoyed the few hours I was there!

I can't recommend John highly enough and am looking forward to working with John again next year hopefully! :)

I've lost count of the amount of times I've worked with John now, but each time is ever better than the last

I have such a hoot on my shoots with him, he is a laugh a minute and doesn't take himself too seriously. It's a total pleasure working with him as much as I have and to top it off we always come away with gorgeous images that I'm always really happy with :)

Highly recommended by me and hope to see him on my next venture North!

John was the photographer who gave me reassurance that I'm not the craziest person on the planet! :D He is awesome!! We shot together during my Scotland tour at a lovely little studio on thee hottest day in the history of Britain... being inside when it was so nice out did not even cross my mind because I thoroughly adored what was appearing on the back of the camera! Photography wizard definitely comes to mind because each gave some really spellbinding images (I was never good at jokes so leave me alone!) :D I am so glad that we managed to shoot because initially the odds were against us - I was trying to manoeuvre dates the best I could when we were arranging and then on the day John was suffering from a bad headache but that didn't stop the flow at all.

I've got nothing but merits for John; communications before the shoot were perfect, he kindly picked me up from Dundee station (and returned me afterwards), we had a really great rapport getting on like we've shot millions of times, he knows his lighting inside out and he even poses like a pro model too when! I've never seen a more fun way of demonstration for a set, simply flabbergasted :) but he's a photographer with an amazing eye who knows exactly what he wants from a shoot. Creativity was flying around the room for sure, take the simplest of art nude looks and John injects beautiful wow-ness into it. :)

Just like all the other model compliments John has received; he is the easiest person in the universe to get on with and has a heart of gold with his kind and courteous etiquette towards models breaking the ice and making you feel comfortable from start to finish. A true professional all round. :) I think we set a record for chatting whilst shooting, this isn't including the tea breaks by the way... the multitasking was champion and the images still 5 star! This guy is just delightful and I shall certainly be rushing like crazy to work with him again!

Recommended any day of week, and very highly! Thank you John.

John is a bit of a legend really! We have worked together several times now and done something different each time. Pre shoot comms are always first class and I always get to eat naughty Scottish treats and drink lots of tea! On this occasion John even managed to rustle up a last minute studio day! The man is a genius!

Anyway, I love working with John, and here's to many more shoots!

What can I say, John McNairn is one of the nicest people I know and I would enjoy a day out with him even if he wasn't taking my picture :-) . Having said that he is a pretty great photographer which is a nice bonus ! He has given me some of my favourite ever images as well as taught me plenty along the way. John is able to give excellent direction and help with posing when required, he is also able to let a model 'do her thing' which makes for a great and productive modelling experience. Shoots are always fun and creatively interesting too and John is absolutely professional and considerate - easy to recommend as highly as possible!! Huge thanks , Amber :-)

I worked with the lovely John on my recent Scottish tour at Studio RoRo on half a days shoot and had such a lovely time! John is a master of lighting, fantastic at giving models direction, whilst allowing them to be creative and sponanteous in equal measures. He is a talented photographer, very creative, kind, considerate and a pleasure to work with. He was also very kind to share the images with me from the shoot and there are some really beautiful images to choose from!
