I initially first worked with Alan many years ago, early on in my modelling career, and we had the opportunity again to work together last week. Alan arranged a Model Day for me at Glenrothes Camera Club whilst I was already in the Fife area with other bookings. Alan organised the whole day and what a great day it was. I had the opportunity to shoot with 4 up-and-coming photographers whom were all an absolute joy to work with. Alan assisted the whole day with lighting setups and teaching each of the photographers from basic setups to more complex lighting. Even though it was more of a day/shoot working with others, Alan did manage some shots in between slots and as always he was a joy to work with. Alan made the day fun and relaxed but also was so professional throughout.

It really was a joy to return to the studio, a place I have shot at many times in the past but not for a good while, so it was great to return. Such a friendly, warm, welcoming studio, with models changing area, make up mirror, canteen facilities and a great studio setup with many backdrops, props etc. I had such a great day, from the photographers I worked with to the images achieved it was just first class.

I cannot recommend Alan highly enough, a true professional, a joy to work with, makes you feel comfortable and at ease, first class communication, works well with both models and photographers, a great tutor and a credit to the industry. Make sure you work with him now as you wont be disappointed.

I got the opportunity to meet and work with Alan on a little shoot whilst on my tour of Scotland, he was one of the last people I shot with before embarking on the train home. It was so nice to finish up on a productive note at the superb little studio in Fife... I am of the understanding that Alan does a great deal for the running of the studio/club and from a models perspective it was a tremendous place to shoot, I cannot stress how much of a top job he has done. :D Models will love it who happen to stop by, it is warm, comfortable bearing excellent facilities and even refreshments.

When I modelled for Alan there was no end of lovely images coming out of each setup. He approaches the work with a really skilled vision where lighting is concerned and knows exactly what to manoeuvre to get the best out of a look at a given moment. His images show beautiful expression and atmosphere, this is always a great thing in my eyes because you feel the balanced passion for the images and give it your all. I have no doubts that Alan could get a rapport going with a plastic mannequin! By far a very nice gentleman to get along with, as well as a real sport. Myself, Alan and the other photographer I shot with that day enjoyed some cracking banter. A fun shoot makes every ounce of difference, it also makes the time fly like you wouldn't believe! Thanks again Alan, have a great whopping recommendation from me. :)

Faith Starr Model

I had the great pleasure of working with Alan and various other photographers at a group shoot he organised at the camera club in Glenrothes. It was a fun, and educational shoot for photographers new to studio shoot and working with models. I was honoured to be the model for the night and it was absolutely brilliant. Everyone though new to photographing models was professional in their approach, I felt very relaxed and we all got on so well. Alan personally was very approachable, good with giving direction and a very lovely person to work with. I look forward to working with him again and very highly recommend him to all!
