What can I say?..I love working with Finegan...and it really is 'working with'.

A loose plan, a random 'rain proof alternative' and a box of fabric.

I love the tutoring which is always patient and accommodating.

But most of all, I love the images.🤩😍🥰

It's been six months since I last shot with Finegan (how time flies)!

Being a photographer who has worked with a great range of models of differing experience and at different levels (as well as a background in teaching), I arranged a shoot that would allow me to experiment and develop as a model.

Finegan's trademark is classic set up, pose and professionality within a super safe environment and meticulous boundaries.

I had a wonderful time (as usual) and really enjoyed pushing myself, without worrying about achieving a 'final product'.

This really allowed me to make an 'eejit' of myself and try out some new aspects of photography that I have been interested in.

I have no doubt, that as a result of good, solid lighting we will have achieved something worthy(:)

My 2nd photoshoot with Alan and it was fantastic he is by far one of the best photographers I have had the pleasure of working with. I love his ideas and he loves mine we work brilliantly together and it made the day so effortlessly fabulous. We had a studio and worked through a lot of different sets which are all amazing. Alan Is so easy to work with professional,fun and very kind. Alan even came and collected me for the shoot which was an hour away from him and it wasn’t a bother. I look forward to our next shoot and I can honestly say any model if lucky enough to work with him you are blessed.

I've still got a big cheesy grin from our third shoot together, four days ago.

Having started to 'get to grips with the basics' I had enough confidence to put forward the idea of a watershoot, knowing that finegan's first love is studio work..

He performed handsomely!

Negotiated an extremely steep hill, perched himself on a rather unstable rock with his tripod balanced precariously in the pond.

And still managed to produce some amazing results.

I love finegan's direction.always focussing on the theme of the shoot and aiming for the best shot each and every time.

Cant wait for the next outing!(:)

The second time was even better, we did an outdoor shoot, the weather was ok not that bad for being NI, as the shoot goes I feel more motivated to do more pose, even though I didn't care to go into the water to capture some splendid shoots. I already see the results it is awesome, Finegan is a great artist to work with!

A second shoot with Finegan..

Such a patient gentleman..

He kindly spent two hours setting up a full stage set and lighting in my sun room to test out the capabilities for a small studio..

Thankfully it worked!

I'm delighted with the results.

Finegan is a craftsman at his trade..get the lighting correct..set up the pose and shot...learn the basics..

A true mentor for any new model.

Very comfortable in my home environment..

I look forward to our next project!

Literally just finished my first shoot with Finegan.

We arranged a short shoot for testing purposes, light, poses etc.

Absolutely lovely morning.

As per other reviews Finegan is a very relaxed and professional gentleman.

Excellent at explaining every process, what he is trying to achieve. Pace was great..not rushed and always great encouragement plus handy tips throughout.

This was my first time meeting Alan and shooting with him. He was such a pleasure to work with and was so accommodating to me and my needs. He even came to me so that we could meet and have a nice easy garden/beauty style shoot before we progressive and do a longer shoot which I hope will be soon :). Alan is very professional but is a great laugh he made me feel at ease from the start and always is considering how I am feeling. Great fun,communication,ideas,timing and great photographery skills. Alan also assured I had access to the camera to see what I wanted or didn’t want kept. Highly recommended look forward to the next shoot

A second shoot with with totally lovely gentleman after such a successful first shoot in the autumn of last year! :D We did a whole day this time at a wonderful space local to Alan and fired off some truly beautiful imagery.

I hadn’t expected to be doing an Ireland tour so soon after my one last year, but sometimes it’s just how bookings go so I did quite an extended tour this time: covering the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Ireland over about two weeks. Now not only did I have the most delightful day shooting with Alan, but my analogy of this kind and selfless person was confirmed when he offered off his own back to help me with a lift when I made the flight from the Isle Of Man into Belfast airport! Bearing in mind that we weren’t shooting until a couple of days later... So he completely went out of his way to help me with what could have been quite an awkward journey using busses to the studio where I was shooting that afternoon. Literally, you can’t possibly get more kind hearted than that! He completely understands the significant pressure on models when they travel to see shoots through maintaining a strong/aesthetic appearance for every hour they’re on set and then subsequently going from place to place with quite often a lot of luggage! :P Such a compassionate and lovely person in every sense, he’s got so much respect for models and with his experience and background in the industry his etiquette and care for his colleagues/models is just on-pointe. The first thing he’ll do when you enter a shooting venue is make sure the temperature is decent to keep the model warm, even if he ends up feeling like he’s dying from heat an hour in! :O

Once we cracked on with shooting, there was a flurry of wonderful ideas once more. Alan had really thought out some ingenious concepts, putting together props himself and assessing how he was going to light it. I have so much admiration for the fact that he has such an eye for getting it perfect because I know how meticulous the art background is. His discipline with his sculptural work really shines as he builds the light onto the subject with a vision to it all work beautifully. I’ve seen lots of different lighting setups from different shooting scenarios, but even I was blown away with the totally inspired way in which Alan put his setups together! He thinks very much out of the box and will put tireless effort in to get it right. The first set we did was 100% birdseye-view where Alan was working blind, but his direction and patience to make small adjustments until we had it was superb! I have so much respect for this because I know it’s not wasted time and that you’re working towards something super-wow. That’s sure what we ended up with too! What a fantastic photographer! :D

Each set we did brought about some gorgeous results, Alan is on-the-ball with everything from building the set to thinking about accessories etc. He applied so much know-how and involvement from so many angles and it’s so easy to strike a creative relationship with him because he respects/encourages the models input and ideas too.

I was so well looked after during this wonderful visit to Bangor. :) Alan kindly bought me lunch, set up a personal changing/makeup space for me in the studio we were shooting at and always maintained a relaxed/pressure-free pace. The lady who ran the venue was lovely and there were tea/coffee facilities too, we did plenty of chatting as always and just had a complete ball on our second shoot together. The edits look sensational!!!

Here’s to the next time I get the chance to shoot with this amazing person! :D

I would recommend Alan to any model! Such a nice man, friendly, bubbly personality. Gentlemen! I felt very comfortable for whole photo shoot, we went for light lunch 🥗 thank you very much for nice day and hope to work together again🙂🙃

Well what can I say... Alan was my last shoot of my tour and what a way to finish.. Booking the shoot was so quick and easy and pre comms was brilliant. Alan Picked me up from my hotel to take me to the studio and then made sure I got back to the airport after.. We had an all day shoot and Alan made sure I had a lovely lunch which set me up for my long journey back home.

He knew what he wanted to get out of the shoot and had ideas that we worked on to produce some lovely images.. I can't wait to see the finished edits.. The whole day was very laid back and very relaxed and I felt at ease straight away.. Would 100% recommend working with Alan if you get the chance.. I can't wait to go back and work together again.. This time when the weather is nicer so we can hopefully do some location :-D Thank you again for such a lovely day and shoot . x

Had my first photoshoot with Alan last week and would highly recommend him to anyone in the industry.

When I arrived he had the studio all ready to go and he had his own ideas but was open to my own ideas also and allowed me to pose freely.

Completely professional photographer who definitely knows his stuff when it comes to working with the camera and all equipment.

Can't wait to work with Alan again.

Alan was one of the last shoots I was able to fit in on the planning of my recent tour of Ireland, I cannot stress how pleased I am that we managed to coordinate our availability as such because the initial date Alan got in touch about relative to my casting was all booked up... The last availability I had was in Dublin whereas he is based more North so I did worry that it was just going to be too much of a push and we would have to wait until my next visit. But no! What an absolute star! He was free and happy to travel down to the studio in Dublin (kindly picking me up at my B&B beforehand) and we smashed an amazing shoot proving Friday the 13th to be whole load of nonsense! :P Truly amazing session, nothing "bad luck" about it!

I found Alan a really interesting person because his background in sculpting really inspired me (as an enthusiastic artist myself in my teens) so we already had a great deal of common ground to share as a creative team. I think it's amazing that Alan has made the transition to photography and now sculpts with light, he does it so well and some of the imagery we produced really has that essence of the classic sculpture you see in marble etc. He's got an unquestionable eye for art and his ability to connect with the model as a team seeing details to direct and coming up with full sets/ideas is so very encouraging, then when you start to see the stunning results popping up on the back of the camera the buzz kicks in and you're really on a roll! :D This is why I started modelling, because you can have a whole load of enjoyment doing personal artistic projects yes, but when you team up with a fellow artist and ideas/styles unite then it's even more exciting to see the results because they input something too and the results are different with every independent shoot you do! I would be particularly over the moon to work with Alan again in the future because this shoot just hit it off like magic! :)

Super kind person too: lovely temperament, and positively upbeat! The first thing he said when we arrived was "are you okay temperature-wise? Models comfort is so important" and this straight away fills a model full of confidence that the photographer is conscious of their well-being/happiness on a shoot. There is a more respectful person on the planet, Alan's a real gem, the very example for perfect etiquette on a shoot. :) Our time went really quickly, dozens of images, just as many cups of tea and plenty of natters about all sorts. That's how a shoot should be! I don't have enough praise to put into words how awesome Alan is and I'll be hurdling at the chance to work together again on my next visit!
