Today it was my fifth shoot with the lovely Estella Rose. Just as last time. Estella Rose brought a massive hold-all full of outfits and props, which she blended very skilfully with ours.

One of her costumes included a set of roller blades. These can be a tad tricky in a studio settling. But she coped beautifully.

We’ve taken to shooting Saturday afternoons, just after lunch and doing just three or four sets. She only lives 10 km away, so it’s easy to pick up where we left off in the next shoot. I’m delighted to see that she is developing a very distinctive style of her own.

It was – and always is – an absolute pleasure working with Estella Rose. Can’t wait for our next shoot. :-)

My fourth shoot with the delightful Estella Rose. This time we concentrated on her costumes and ideas. And she certainly is not short of either. She is busily collecting a beautiful selection of costumes.

Coupled with her timeless looks and boundless enthusiasm, this turned into our best ever shoot.

Just completed my third shoot with the delightful Estella Rose and I'm busy moving the images from the camera card to my media server, and backing them up.

We both had quite a lot of ideas. Some ideas worked better than others. That's a photographer's way of admitting that his model's ideas were better than his own! We based the first couple of sets around one of her favourite films, Lisa Frankenstein.

We also tried LED continuous lighting, which worked remarkably well. I cheated a bit by putting a 20mm f/1.7 prime pancake lens (40mm 135 equivalent) on my camera. This meant I could open the lens up and get reasonable shutter speeds, generally between 1/40 and 1/90 second. Downside of course, no zoom. This meant a lot of legwork to zoom in to the pats we wanted to capture. But as my wife always says, I need the exercise.

Estella Rose brought a massive holdall full of costumes with her. It was a struggle just to lift it. But she has some lovely outfits and we made sure we had enough time to do it justice.

Of course, as usual, we ran out of time. In fact our "couple of hours" shoot actually lasted five hours. Though it whizzed by in what seemed like about twenty minutes. I suspect this girl has superpowers and can warp the time-space continuum. But it's just a theory... :-) :-)

Lovely model, lovely person and as ever, very highly recommended.

Just going through the images following my second studio shoot with the delightful EstellaRose. In addition to being a very beautiful young woman, she is also a very enthusiastic and hard-working person, with a fresh, natural timeless look that is so perfect for my style of work. She also has a fabulous hourglass figure and is keen to develop a repertoire of vintage style poses with which to compliment it.

Her father dropped her off at my studio with a massive hold-all packed full of outfits. Sadly we ran out of time to use more than a few of them. However I'm very much looking forward to working with her again, hopefully in a few weeks time, when I hope we can go though a load more of her own costumes, and perhaps shoot a few outdoors.

Just finished packing up the studio and backing-up the images following a fabulous day shooting with the lovely Estella Rose. I hadn't realised until we started shooting this is her first proper studio shoot. But she rose to the challenge beautifully. Frankly if she hadn't told me, then I would never have known.

For Estella Rose is a very bright, classy, natural-looking young woman, with a tall slim but perfectly hourglass figure, long naturally wavy brunette hair that catches in the breeze and long, long legs that seem to go on forever. She also has elegant posture, and a tiny little waist.

From my perspective she is the perfect vintage model. Firstly, she has a really fresh natural look. She also has good feel for the vintage genre. In fact, she came equipped with a massive bag full of vintage-style costumes of her own. Her mother attended the shoot as a chaperone, and turned-out to be a very interesting person too. Importantly, she gave her daughter a lot of encouragement and additional confidence.

Her overall look was very authentic. Often she really looked like she looked as if she had just stepped-off the set of 1940's Hollywood movie. And the proverbial "cherry on the cake" insofar as my style of work is concerned, she has no tattoos. None. Not even a small one!

She is also a very thoughtful, considerate person and her pre-shoot communications are excellent. On-set, she oozes enthusiasm and energy. In fact, it was quite hard to keep up with her at times. Our six hour shoot overran by a over an hour. I have absolutely no idea where the time went. It whizzed by in what seemed more like about twenty minutes. But we did manage to try lots of costumes, all of which looked great on her.

Lovely model, lovely person and I look forward to working with her again.
