Having been a generalist photographer and film-maker for many years I decided this year to specialise in portraiture. The more people I take photographs of or with, the more I see and understand the underlying challenges of trying to plan then capture..that beautiful shot...it matters not who the subject is old or young, male, female or transgender. To some extent it makes no difference who the subject is, the challenge as always is to try and capture some aspect of who the subject is and reveal something of them.
