After a long pause (of about 30 years), I came back to photography a couple of years ago. As part of my re-learning I attended a couple of workshop sessions under the excellent guidance of Trevor Davies at Phlash Worx, and my interest in proper portraiture has been piqued.
Faces and expressions particularly interest me. The photographs I like to look at and aim to create are where something is happening.
Finally, I enjoy classic techniques: I develop and scan my own monochrome (35mm and medium format) and use a local lab for my colour. While using a dSLR most of the time, the classic techniques allow "slow photography" which is wonderfully calming.
