I just love getting the chance to work with Drew when I venture up North - each and every time we have shot, we have always managed to do something a little different. And we’ve worked together a fair few times now... He’s quite clearly totally mad for having me back so many times haha! :P Ohhh, and a totally LEGENDARY host. That’s all!

This time I was travelling to Drew’s from the North after working in the Highlands. It meant lengthy train rides again with my ambitious touring habits... Quite a leg of a journey to make, landing finally in the evening which is normally the most tiring part of a tour believe it or not! But even though I was arriving just around when Drew finished up working himself (and was most likely knackered!) ...Being the kindest/most easy going and generous person that he is; was still totally willing to pick me up in Glasgow for a leisurely trip transporting my 65 million colossal suitcases back to his place. I mean, what a guy - that’s already kindness above and beyond the call of duty even before we’d begun shooting! The plan was then to stay with Drew/shoot and then head on to various other jobs in the area; I’ve mentioned it many times previously, but the setup that Drew offers for touring models is just gold and makes like so much easier. Aside from the total crack we have shooting each time, I cannot stress how grateful I am to Drew for that alone. :)

The shoot!!!!

Well, we made me an evil clone of myself just in time for Halloween... [Or was the evil one already the one lurking around the world? ;)] We also did some superbly snazzy stuff with laser/disco lights! I did say that we do something totally different each time we shoot - and it’s usually inspired by some fun new prop or light that one of us has acquired haha! The results were insanely funky, with the laser set boasting total rock-star/pop vibes with colours and mood, and the double exposure/evil clone set producing epic effects that you could envisage on the front of a movie poster or something! Seriously, even if we have a shorter shoot - the inspiration and bouncing off one another is still totally maxed out. That’s the really lovely thing about shooting with Drew though; he sees the process entirely as a team thing and never ceases to welcome suggestions from the model and go with the flow as ideas kick in. He takes time on a set where he sees great potential and perseveres with the technical stuff to get the images looking as cool as possible. He is endlessly passionate about pulling the stops to create and push the innovation to different levels; it’s this passion which makes him a complete pleasure to work with time after time. Because as a model/with this being my job: I get the best satisfaction when a shoot goes well - but additionally when you do manage to strike lovely/semi-regular working rapports with people. I get a lot out of the occupation for just that alone. :)

So to sum it up in a slightly different way to what I’ve written before haha! Drew is 1000000% recommended by me - as you can gather. :P He’s a gentleman in every respect, endlessly gracious and big-hearted... And very importantly: respectful of the models who he works with. I will TOTALLY be working with Drew again in the future - it’s just a matter of time. :D

Drew is an absolute gem, he will go out of his way to make sure you feel comfortable and professional at all times of your shoot.

He is extremely personable, easy to talk to and most of all easy to work with.

I would wholeheartedly not hesitate to recommend him to any model!

I think during the majority (if not all) of my Scottish tours this year, I have stayed with this awesome dude whilst working between Glasgow and Edinburgh… His kindness is truly out of this world and the shoots we have are a total mix of creative productivity and rib-cracking laughter! :D Sometimes we might not be able to shoot if availability/timing doesn’t work out, but Drew is such a generous guy that he welcomes me to crash regardless… This most recent time on my latest tour of Scotland we did manage to shoot and it was brilliant! Innovatively spurred-on/teamwork defined and really working new ideas by bouncing off each other. :D

I’m talking seeing a moment and pulling a picture out of it, I’m talking trying a completely crazy idea but then realising that there is actually something to be had, I’m talking utilising different light sources and Drew persevering with insane determination to make it technically work, I’m talking a shoot that is literally a walk in the park in terms of how well you’ve gelled, I’m talking a pace so relaxed yet getting a lot done, I’m talking ideas that pop up out of mid-air, I’m talking just a really pleasant shoot session time and time again which encourages positive cooperate imagination and working rapports to reach some target cool images. It isn’t always a very specific brief that Drew has to follow, but that doesn’t affect a thing since he appreciates so much that the people he works with will be happy to bring themselves to the table as artists/models and then the photography takes shape from the output of a few initial foundation looks/light opportunities. It could be the way the light streams in through the windows for a luscious boudoir set or the mad level of concentration as coloured lamps are moved around to get different effects on a nude set… Drew sees the value in so many styles and genres, he will inject a massive level of effort into getting the best out of a set no matter how challenging/how mad – he gets right in the zone and adapts to every bonkers idea thrown in the mix with visual appreciation across the board. He’s great at flash, natural light and even balancing the two which can be quite a big challenge with changeable light conditions. I have a huge level of respect for all the varied lighting situations that Drew throws himself into without hesitation. As a creative he’s so raring to try new concepts all the time. 

Of course you ain’t going to come across a more courteously respectful either! Drew always puts the models wellbeing and comfort high on his priority list, he shoots only what the model is comfortable shooting and always conducts shoots with a nice relaxed and stress-free pace. In terms of etiquette, Drew’s is literally exemplary! When I stay with him on my tours it is almost like crashing with a pal – amazing company/hospitality and graciousness with enjoyable chats and banter, but the minute we shoot it’s utter professionalism with still a fun and upbeat vibe which makes the whole event fly by like crazy of course! As a photographer; any model would feel every bit at ease working with Drew… As a host, he honestly has a heart of gold and is the most selfless person ever who never expects anything in return… I literally had to force him to accept a selection of choccies I had accumulated as a little thank-you and he was still as humble as ever. He has taxi’d me around so many times when he’s been free as well to save on messing around with trains, always helps lugging my ridiculously bulky cases up the stairs to his and always remains so chirpy and cheerful. He’s the nicest character ever and I genuinely enjoy catching up when I’m up on tour.

But it’s pretty obvious: I recommend Drew Insanely!!! He’s a good egg and a really safe place for models to stay if the are shooting with him/discussing staying any length of time.

Always look forward to the next time! :D Thank you to the moon back beyond dude, you really are a star!

Brill shoot, got on really well and was such an enjoyable shoot.

Highly recommend models to work with this guy or there generally missing out.

Worked with Drew for the first time, the shoot flew by! Drew has to be the most enthusiastic photographer I've worked with this year. He made me feel very comfortable and we laughed a lot.

Just did an amazing shoot with drew tonight covering art nude and bodyscapes . Drew is a great guy , really chatty and friendly . He also was kind enough to me up from the train station on the way there and gave me a lift home . Throughout the session he was informative and easy to talk to and not once did I feel awkward or nervous posing for him. I loved the ideas he came up with and he showed me the shots on his camera throughout the session to make sure I was happy with everything . Drew also had lots of good advice to give me and I would definitely shoot with him again.

Oh My, Just how awesome is this amazing human??!!

Merely the second time we had worked together/the second time Drew had hosted me... but literally: after hitting off such an ace rapport on our first shoot (and extending the hours as we were rocking it so well) I was over the moon when Drew said he was around for my latest tour of Scotland!

When I travel up North, it's not a quick few days of a job... it's often two weeks or more covering all the various regions and to top it off: I usually brave it with public transport whilst equipped with more bags than the craziest bag lady you ever did see! :P So even when you plan it to be super organised and know your route off to a tee, it can be a tiring thing doing such a big trip. But you know what makes such a trip a whole friendlier and enjoyable experience? People like Drew! I have no end of thanks for the absolutely stupendous hospitality and kindness he showed me for my time in the Glasgow area, just one heck of a star who will has such a big heart and made my days in Glasgow a barrel of laughs too! :D

The evening I arrived/the first night I crashed at Drew's, I was coming down from way up North and, with a previous train being delayed a little, I had to leg it like an Olympic sprinter (dragging all my luggage behind me) to desperately make my next connection which was my only hope of arriving that evening given it was quite late already. So safe to say, I was surprised I didn't fall asleep on the train following a long day of shooting/travelling and then the panic with trains! Drew, bless his heart, was at the other end ready to collect me from the main station in Glasgow so that I didn't have to get yet another connection to the little station closest his house... You would have never seen a more relieved model in all your life!

Throughout the days I stayed with Drew I had a number of different shoots booked in, and on so many occasions Drew offered to do drop-off's/pick-ups for me to make life easier, he's just such a lovely and generous guy who recognises how little helpful tokens can make the world of different and before I had even started to think about transport/getting to and from the supermarket to stock up on food... He was already running me there and just being the most generous friend you could have an a tour, which can actually be quite a hostile and lonely trip if you're spending it in hotels most nights. I mean aside from the fact that Drew is the loveliest, most courteous person you could come across, he's such great fun to have banter with either after or during a shoot... you can literally end up chattering about all sorts and have one of those funny moments where you talk about several completely unrelated things all in one conversation. It's brilliant! :D

He did absolutely everything he could to make me feel as comfortable as possible: I felt totally at home and with a wonderful safe base to crash each night after shooting... It took away the stress of having to drag absolutely everything around too as one of my cases was just "day to day" things so I could leave it safely at Drew's whilst lugging my shoot gear to the jobs only. Honestly, forget a reference... I need to be writing a flaming dissertation for this dude! He's a true legend he really is! I felt like I wanted to do something to help out around the place and return the thanks but Drew was adamant that I was comfortable and worry-free and he genuinely just wanted to be the best help he could for me during my tour and I honestly cannot be grateful enough for that!

We also managed a short impromptu shoot at his flat again, this time using the surrounds more which was good fun as he does have some beautiful natural light at his. :D We tries all sorts from body-scape style lit nudes by the window to totally mad and quirky fashion looks... Drew is so easy going when it comes to styles and will happily let the models throw in ideas and be a part of the shoot... He's such fun to work with and will always try and get the best out of every set producing images that everyone involved is happy with regardless of the booking arrangement. He strives with epic enthusiasm for definite. :) I really enjoy working with Drew. :)

His communication via Purpleport are excellent and he's one of the first to get back to you if you've discussed dates/times etc. and he says he'll just double check and then confirm - he's true to that and this makes life so much easier when planning a tour. So much in the way of good compliments to say about this gent... I honestly wouldn't know where to stop! He shows the models he books extremely high levels of respect - I would happily scream it from the moon that I recommend him as a fab photographer to shoot with, and a divine host to stay with. :)

DREW IS AMESOME!

No, he literally is... On my latest Scotland tour I stayed with this lovely gentleman for multiple nights whilst working in the Glasgow area and he was just the kindest host ever! I'm normally just mega grateful for the bed for the night and everything like travelling to shoot destinations myself but bless this guy, he dropped me off at studios and collected me again afterwards... it was lovely company for the evenings and a good laugh about all manner of random things which is a nice change on a tour which can be quite hostile if you're staying in B&B's etc. yet he's so easy going and if I was just absolutely shattered one evening he was totally cool if I went to bed early like an antisocial boring person! :P He's just the coolest person ever.

We had a mini shoot during my stay and that was great fun... blasting out some fun ideas in and around Drew's place which is fab for shooting! He has a purpose made backdrop and studio area for the simple styles, but there's lots of cool features around his place that allow you to be creative and Drew is such a sweet and easy going guy that he will happily hear input from the models running around saying "try this, try that" :P That combined with my crazy workout over the days I stayed with him, I'm surprised he hasn't gone permanently dizzy! :D But yes we hot some crazing shots, pretty natural light bodyscapes and funky fashion; Drew will put his hand to any kind of idea always working to the models comfort zone with total professionalism and respect. He's a genuinely great guy to work with.

His communications are always brilliant, I contacted him first to check if the date I would be passing was okay... and within no time at all he had got back to me and confirmed which meant I didn't have to hold off for long making work arrangements and as always with a tour, the early you can plan things the better so it all flows nicely Drew helped me so much and I cannot thank him enough!

I would happily scream from the rooftops my recommendation for Drew, just a genuine and down to earth chap who really does have a heart of gold!

I had my first shoot with Drew while touring in beautiful Glasgow and he was an absolute pleasure to work with!

Drew is an incredibly friendly, easy going and chatty person! He is sooo easy to work with, he's really open to any ideas but he's also professional at what he's doing. We probably spent half of our shoot chatting meaning we really got on ! :)

Shooting with Drew was so enjoyable and he really made me feel comfortable. We had both plenty of stories to tell which made our shoot sooo relaxed :)

I would love to recommend Drew to any model looking for a great time and amazing pictures. Looking forward to working with him again ! :)

Not long back from my first of many shoots with Drew! Took him to a stunning location that I absolutely love using. We had a good time creating the images we both wanted.

I had an absolutely fantabulous time working with the lovely Drew! :D I was pleased to hear from him after I popped a casting call out for my recent tour of Scotland - Drew and I had not yet worked together and he had some wonderful ideas he wanted to try which instantly gets you enthused as you have creative starting points to get a flow and rapport going... Then on the day, we went from planning to focus on bodyscapes/classic nudes to covering kick-ass fashion, casual, beauty, fitness, natural light... even getting outdoors! After such an amazing half-day shooting at Drew's super home studio, we then had a wonderful impromptu shoot the next day out on location! :D Drew made it so easy for me on tour and couldn't help enough: he kindly gave me somewhere to stay the night between our shoots and this meant I wasn't carting my great heavy cases to and from hotels with somewhere safe to set up camp for the night. It made things so much more practical too since we actually used a fair amount of my modelling wardrobe in the end and got such epic variety in images! Drew's home studio is brilliant, he's got the perfect space to get a range of angles and crop styles - he's got the lighting setups to create different studio effects which enables him to do justice to one look in a number of ways. When a photographer makes an active effort to work the composition, reacting to a pose to do it good photographically then you instantly know the images are going to look pretty wicked! :D And that they did! Drew has already done a few edits which I was super excited to share, I'm now looking through the rest and shaking my head because I'm wanting to upload some to show off but I do not know where to start! Wonderful photographer with an epic creative eye: I cannot stress enough that if you are due to be shooting with Drew soon or in the future - he will put so much effort into capturing the best out of you as a model.

Aside from getting so many stunning images from our two enjoyable shoot sessions, I found Drew to be such a lovely person to work with: he's easy going and straight-talking with a heart of gold. I'm able to vouch for his fabulous shoot etiquette from the moment he kindly picked me up at the train station... super polite and respectful at all times and makes sure models/guests are comfortable and well looked after. :) We got on like a house on fire and probably didn't stop laughing from the word go: kind of hilarious when you're tensing up ready for the bodyscape shot of the evening but if you cannot enjoy a positive bounce when you work then what is the point. :) Thank you so much Drew; your communications, photography efforts, hospitality and chatter where brilliant! I look forward to the next opportunity to work together!
