Doug was the last photographer I worked with in Scotland on my latest tour- we shot for 3.5 hours at his home in Edinburgh.

I was curious to meet Doug and to see what he was like in person- It's clear Doug is very specific, a perfectionist- and, as has been said, modelling for him can be a bit of a strain for an old body like mine- HA- only because you are holding the poses for quite a long time just to get the light working perfectly. Despite that Doug and I had very regular breaks to check over the images, eat tasty grapes and chat a little- so really, it wasn't too hard and he did look after me, haha!! ;)

We got many lovely photos, worked our way through portraits, nudes and movement images.

At the end of the shoot before my 4.5 hour drive to Manchester Doug made me a super tasty and cheesy dinner so I was geared up for my trip back- thanks so much! Hope to work with you again next year! :)

He is a true gent, very professional from the word go and extremely easy to get on with. We produced many great images and I cannot wait to work with him again in the near future. I was delighted to arrange a shoot with Doug during my tour again this year. We have a history of creating great art, several of the previous works have won awards and it just goes to show the attention to detail and precision Doug outs into his work!

Doug was kind enough to host me again this year and looked after me well during my stay! We only shot for two hours, mainly working on "correcting" a few shots from last year but it was a very productive shoot. Modelling for Doug can be very tough because of the nature of his photography - he really sculpts with light so we always work hard to get things as close to perfection as possible!

Thank you again for another great shoot and here is to hoping for more awards!

After a year of waiting I had two shoots with Doug this weekend during my Scottish tour and he was kind enough to host me during my time in Edinburgh too! I have been looking forward to these shoots for an entire year now and it certainly paid off! (I was very excited about the awards Doug received from last year's images and was incredibly proud of what we produced). Doug has an incredible attention to detail and his passion for the arts shows in the quality of his images. the first of the two shoots was focused on close up bodyscapes. I have definitely learnt there is a skill level required for this kind of shot as it requires complete stillness (and awareness of all the parts of my body I never paid attention to before) but the results were awesome! The second shoot was a wider variety of art nudes, motion images and portraits. Doug is one of the few people to photograph me with completely no makeup and each time we shoot together I gain a new confidence in myself!

Not only is Doug very professional and respectful but he is also a very good host and lovely company, The weekend was full of good food, arty discussions and amazing photography!

I had the pleasure of working with Douglas on my Edinburgh tour. I was a bit nervous as I had never done bodyscapes before which is what we planned to shoot. He was incredibly kind, generous and made sure I was comfortable throughout our shoot. He was incredibly hospitable and made me dinner as well as insured I was keeping my fluids up during my time with him. He was so sweet as to not only walk me to the bus stop to get back to my bnb, he also got on the bus with me and walked me right to the front door. He was incredibly professional, polite and courteous throughout. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Doug yesterday. What a great guy! He was very hospitable and helpful which is always appreciated on tour. He made sure I was happy at all times during the shoot and that I was well fed after. He was very respectful and from what I saw the pics looked great, very different to my usual work also which was fun. I will definitely be working with him again, highly recommended :)

I worked with the lovely Doug again on a recent Scottish tour and had a great time! We worked together for a couple of hours on Dougs bodyscape project, creating gorgeous shapes underneath the lighting. Doug is a perfectionist- an artist and always creates beautiful photographic work as a result, its a joy to work with him. He is also one of the most considerate photographers I have worked wtih in terms of personal space and making sure the model is comfortable with "up close" bodyscape, always making sure the model is warm, comfortable and covered as he is moving around the model- a true gentleman.

I also really greatly enjoyed his company and even stayed for a late meal and tea afterwards, which he kindly cooked. I had a really enjoyable evening and would highly recommend Doug to any creatives to work with. Thankyou for a memorable shoot and really hope to work with you again soon! Helen x

I had the absolute pleasure of modelling for Doug during my recent Scottish tour. The shoot was unlike anything I’ve done before (it started with me taking off all makeup as preparation for a start). We mainly shot for Doug’s ‘bodyscape’ project, which was truly fascinating; Doug has such an eye for detail and his photography is more precise than I’ve ever seen (it’s no wonder he has won so many awards)! I felt completely relaxed during the shoots and Doug was very considerate throughout both days.

Doug was also kind enough to host me for a couple of days during my tour – he is such a lovely guy and I had a really great time. He cooked some wonderful meals, which were very much appreciated, and I could have spent hours chatting to him about all kinds of artwork & photography (well, we did actually!). Doug was so accommodating and I would highly recommend shooting with him to other models – if you get the chance it’s really not one to miss!!

Doug and I finally got the chance to work together after a very long while in touch (or that is what it seemed like!) in discussion about shooting. But on my most recent tour of Scotland we set the dates and away we were... Doug was one of my first shoots of the trip and he also hosted me that evening which helped considerably with me fitting more than one day in. :) He was a fantastic host to say the least! I was very well looked after, fed yummy food and we talked about all sorts as Doug has so many interesting stories to tell with his travels and artwork; is very passionate about what he does which is lovely to see. But yes, an absolute gent who provided wonderful hospitality and showed immense courtesy from the start even seeing me to and from the station. :)

Given that Doug has earned a number of gold medals with his work, there is no surprise why. He has the true eye of an artist (which I can fully appreciate and understand from my days of drinking black coffee shots until 5am to finish a GCSE art project! :P) ...he is such a perfectionist with an eye that can spot the tiniest bit of light out of place. I have never met such a patient, artistic trooper and it was certainly really lovely to be part of his projects this time around. We got on and worked together so well that we were virtually off on a roll from the very first instant we started shooting. Bouncing off each other and sharing ideas too as we thought of inspiration to follow with the body-scapes we were shooting. Doug was clear and concise about what he was wanting to achieve which was so helpful in the pre-shoot communications. Ultimately we had no end of productivity and as we reviewed the shots as we went along it was hard not to get a little bit exited about the abstract beauty we were creating.

All in all - delightful photographer who really knows his lighting. Having showed me a number of other shoots he had completed his photographic interest spans much further than the bodys-capes we shot as well. Doug has absolutely top recommendations from me, I felt at ease the whole time I modelled for him/stayed with him plus the fact we chatted lots and lots as well! :D Such an easy photographer to get along with and I only hope we can make arrangements to work together again in the future.

I worked with Doug on a recent tour to Edinburgh.

Dougs pre comms were excellent and he kindly offered me a place to stay for the night!

His shooting style is intricate but rewarding as he has a fab project ongoing. He is a very interesting man and is clearly in love with his art!

He was so hospitable and cooked me a lovely dinner and awesome cocktails after :D

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and hope to shoot with him again in 2016!

I worked with Doug on a bodyscape shoot at his home studio, whilst I was touring Scotland. As I had come straight from another shoot and was a bit muddy, Doug kindly allowed me to have a shower and offered me a cosy dressing gown and slippers to cover up and keep warm between shots.

Before the shoot Doug showed me what he wanted to achieve and what to expect. The shoot itself was very interesting and certainly different from what I had done previously. The photos looked wonderful! Doug made sure I was comfortable throughout and he was easy to get along with, with lots of interesting stories to tell :)

I highly recommend Doug to other models :)

I worked with the lovely Doug at his home/studio in Edinburgh as part of my Scottish tour. On arrival I found Doug very professional, polite, kind and extremely considerate. He talked me through the brief for the shoot beforehand and was extremely professional on the shoot, making due I was covered and comfortable in between shots.

It was a very unique and different shoot for me as it was a shoot involving bodyscape- Doug was very precise and so achieved some amazing, high definition bodyscapes with his camera- the shots were so beautiful I have created a special folder of the shots taken that day on my Purpleport page!

Doug also kindly had rearranged the shoot when I was taken ill the week before- and kindly gave me a bite to eat after the shoot of homemade Belgium waffles and strawberrys! A truly lovely creative spirit and I really hope we get to work together again soon, thankyou for such a lovely shoot! :) Highly recommended, Helen x
