Dicky Gee

I'm Richard and I am a Licentiate of the Disabled Photographers Society. My background is in commercial video and documentary making, and teaching TV and video techniques. I have done some paid photography in the past, though it has really just been more of a hobby. I am an exhibited and published photographer. Recipient of a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the 2024 King's New Year's Honours list.

I usually only shoot with female models, unless I have a specific shoot in mind. As a dad to 5 grown up daughters I treat my models the way I would want a photographer to treat my girls, with respect, to which my reference can attest.

I am easy going, patient and always open to new ideas. Since getting back to photography, I have met and worked with some wonderful people and hope to meet and work with many more. I am always looking to shoot new things, so if you want to collaborate and produce some images that we can both use then do get in touch. All ideas will be given the same consideration. I am very generous with my images for collaboration shoots.

I am happy to work with experienced or novice models, so, even if you are brand new to the industry get in touch and let's get some great images for both of our portfolios. As a Director of a multi academy trust I have a regular enhanced DBS check.

PLEASE NOTE: Unsolicited messages asking me to pay you for a shoot will always receive a negative response. I will accept unsolicited messages for TF/ part TF only. I mainly shoot TF/ part TF and only pay models if I have a 'must shoot' idea. Also, I do not, usually, participate in studio days or events.

Sadly, I no longer have commercial studio facilities of my own, since closing Essex Media Workshop.  I am happy to shoot at your home location.

Location shoots: I like location shooting, however, due to having Myasthenia Gravis, I have restricted mobility and don't travel too far.
